I thought PA was supposed to be good at wrestling

Open Mat compiled the #1 recruits from 2005-2021: https://news.theopenmat.com/college...ces-for-the-1-overall-recruit-2005-2021/78853

1) 5................. Ohio
2) 3................ CA
3) 2................ MN
4) 1................. NJ, WI, OK, MD, IN, VA, FL
5) 0.................PA

And in spite of that PSU has won 8 of the last 9 NCAA titles. Guess you have proved once again what a great coach Cael and staff are and how good they are developing the talent they have. Well done jammy boy. :)

I'll preface this by saying I'm relatively new here, but...

Was there a time in the (I assume, very distant) past that Jammenz contributed quality comments or content to the board?

Because it seems like he just pops up every once in a while with dumb, super-specific statistics or statements that are obviously just trolling...am I missing something?

Jammen once got Willie to tell him to shut up. In all honesty, I’m not sure we could ask of or expect any more from him in terms of substance or adding to the board.

Jammenz isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he is definitely a tool 😎 All in good fun, Jammie. Anyone who can carry on a schtick as long as you have can't be too bad in the grand scheme of things!

Jammies is a fun guy who you want to have on the board. Don't worry about WHAT he posts, it's WHY he posts it is what really matters. He's probably thinking something similar to Catbert, the Evil HR Director in Dilbert. "I need to come up with a new policy that will totally annoy the employees." Just substitute "post" for "policy" and "PSU fans" for "employees" and you have Jammies, pure and simple.

I did have a very informative ongoing thread on here but a majority of so-called wrestling fans voted to shut it down.

Jammie has his standards and after consuming a gopher supplied ativan he likes to stop by and see if he can reach his own standardized baseline. Slow without substance.

We keep jammie around just like we keep a coffee can of mixed/odd lot nuts and bolts in the garage.

I’m not a PSU fan but regardless they did have 4 guys on that list (tied with tOSU for the most).

Some of the links are to articles and others are just wiki or stats.

Puts perspective on how hard it is to win NCAAs, these guys were #1 overall not just at their weights.

Edit: Also points out the obvious error in the troll attempt. It's someone's opinion that these guys are the #1 recruit.

In fairness, Bo Jordan did well with the hand he was dealt.

I find hard to believe that Nolf or Rutherford never made a number 1 recruit list.
It's very easy to understand when you look at the classes and circumstances.

Kyle Snyder was the #1 recruit in Jason's year.

Zain's year is a little more complicated but still understandable. 4x Ohio state champ Bo Jordan was the #1 overall -- and he was a monster in HS. Zain had missed his entire JR year due to the transfer to Benton.

Are you saying Jammenz is doing the best he can with the hand he was dealt?

More specifically I was talking about Tsirtsis.
If we are talking about more than just injuries or personal issues, like bad luck in having someone better at your weight then there are several on that list that qualify.
Jammenz is doing pretty well considering he's still here. As far as I know he hasn't needed any aliases.

2 Things:

1. Jammen is intelligent and engaging. It's obnoxious 90% of the time, but it's almost brilliant to see the mental gymnastics he contorts to to speak ill upon PSU Wrestling. He knows what he's doing. He's our board's Sasha Baron Cohen. Additionally, wayyyyy back when I posted on The G, he was every bit helpful and intelligent that he was troll-y. Just gotta keep up appearances.

2. Interesting that the last real "busts" were Gardner and Craig in '06 and '07. With all of the knowledge, film, 72,000 "National Tournaments", it's definitely easier to pinpoint top recruits and discover whether or not they fit their program. If I remember properly, Craig was a Brandon guy, right? Have they fallen on HARD times? They came up to the Clash and throttled us the year that they had like 8 Fargo AA's and multiple D1/D2 recruits. Now you barely hear "boo" about them.

It is a shame Dustin Schlatter's career ( and unfortunately so many other wrestlers' careers also) was derailed by injuries. He was truly special coming right out of high school. His true freshman year he was an NCAA champion with a 42-1 record, defeating Tyler Eustice of Iowa in the finals 4-0 . That year he twice defeated senior and defending national champion Zack Esposito, once by major. His sophomore year he took 3rd at the NCAA tournament with a 37-1 record. Injuries then took their toll. He was 7th as a junior and injury defaulted out of the NCAA tournament his senior year. For some additional history check out this article regarding Schlatter's rivalry with Brent Metcalf. History of Schlatter v. Metcalf article

To call Craig a bust is probably fair, but if you click on his name it leads to an article where he doesn't come off as someone who liked to wrestle. Writing was probably there and people just missed it.

I like Jammen’s banter. He’s a rascal, but I’d know I’d like talking to him about current events and such
