Iowa coaches better at talent spotting and development than they are at producing great results on the field. Iowa only played two Top 20 teams this year and was not competitive either time.
Iowa was in a division where that level recruiting, along with good coaching, produced consistently competitive and winning teams. With the new conference additions plus a change in scheduling philosophy, Iowa's ceiling may have been lowered.
Particularly in today's environment, the ingredients necessary to keep these young men disciplined and focused on team-oriented goals, is to win. We'll see if they can continue to perform in this manner in the future.
Pitt always has a high number of players in the NGL considering how poorly the team does. They always seem to get two,or three really good players and the rest of the team is weak. This article lists 19 on active roster at the beginning of the season. Saw a different site listing 20.
