Ideas for Unique/Memorable House Warming Gift for a Bachelor?

The scotch would not be for you. It would be for your friends when they came over - especially for the guy who gave it to you.

Gotta think ahead. ;)

Oh so you gave yourself a gift. You a shifty guy.

My first deployment, a buddy and his wife moved to the area so I let them stay at my house while I was gone to give them time to find a place of their own and live rent free. They got me one of these as a gift. Hangs in my dining room over a picture of me, wife and kids. Love it. Not necessarily from this website but something like it. They got it nicely framed and everything.

Liberator wedge, kind of like a bean bag chair for the 2020's. Unfortunately not everything needed is included .

I'd suggest a handmade chef's knife, a couple high carbon steel pans by de Buyer or Matfer, and finally, a nice enameled cast iron by Staub.

It’s great when people show appreciation like that, and having it over a family picture makes it even more special.

If you’re looking for something unique and memorable, I’d suggest a digital photo frame. It’s a great way for him to display photos without having to print them out or frame them individually.

Buy them an ornamental tree for their yard or a fancy indoor plant. The gift that keeps giving for a lifetime.
I have indoor plants that are over 15 years old.
Paul McCartney says, to this day, that George Harrison speaks to him through the tree he planted at his house as a housewarming gift way back when.

A single buddy just moved into a sweet loft condo uptown and I want to get him something he'll really get some value out of and that could kind of stand out as he plans on livng here for at least a decade or longer-he is also a great friend. I'm trying to spend under $200....just wanted to see if anyone had some good suggestions or ideas before I jump on Amazon.
no idea what makes your buddy tick, but check out this site. They generally have some interesting stuff for housewarming, bar/kitchen, etc. I think they have some unique college town items as well

a good cordless drill is invaluable and will be around for a long time. I dont know if he has one or not, and I know it is a loft thing, but still there are times a man needs one.

Actually, as a practical gift, I would go with a good Impact Driver. Most people overlook these because you can always use a screw driver, but in hindsight I wish I had bought one decades ago. So many jobs large and small that could have saved my hands and wrists.

This is a gift that the receiver might not otherwise spend the money on his own (because a screwdriver works) but he will eventually come to cherish it. If you think he doesn't have a drill then get a driver/drill set. You can get a DeWalt combo set with two batteries plus a bit set for about $250. Well worth it.

The correct answer 4 years ago, the correct answer today, and the correct answer in the future is guys don't buy single guys housewarming gifts.

2 exceptions:
1. They're dating each other
2. It's booze to be consumed that night amongst everyone in attendance.
