Trump has apparently nominated Pennsylvania GOP congressman Tom Marino (R-PA) as federal drug czar. Reports subsequently surfaced that Marino allegedly "championed a bill that effectively handcuffed federal agents from going after the Big Pharma firms that flooded the country with addictive opioids."
I had never heard of Tom Marino before today, and do not know if this report is true, but how in the hell could Trump submit this guy's nomination for ANY federal post, much less drug czar, with this kind of issue hanging over his head? My guess is that the people doing the vetting for the Administration screwed up, big time.
