If you were Tommy Stevens or Mark Allen would you consider transferring?

As we all know, there's only 1 Qb and usually only 1 Tb on the field at the same time.

I know Tommy is only "one hit away" from getting on the field but who wants to only play if the starter gets hurt? If nothing changes, he would probably only get one year to himself and in that year he'll most likely get good competition from Sean Clifford who is very high ranked and will be in the program for a couple years.

Mark Allen is stuck in a crowded backfield with tremendous competition around him. With him not being able to win any KR or PR jobs, his touches at PSU could be minimal.

We substitute a lot on defense but hardly ever substitute on offense. Thoughts?

Why would you even start this crap?

Stevens would have a huge leg up on Clifford. And he really is only "one hit away," especially backing up a running QB. I remember a game around 2003 against Illinois where we lost our number 1 and 2 for the year, in the same game. It's not a stretch.

Because some "fans" simply can't be happy unless there is drama to whine about.
Agree - let's find reasons to get worked up when there is no indication we need o be. Neither has indicated that they are unhappy with their status. Makes no sense to speculate.
You guys need to chill. It's just discussion.

Sorry let's start another Pitt fans are losers thread.

It's not even about the drama..... it's just a time wasting senseless question.

The question is ... If I weren't the starter at PSU would I leave if I were someone I am not?
WTF?

Unless Stevens drops to a lower tier program, there's no guarantee he starts anywhere else. Odds are he just becomes a back up for a worse team. Different story for running backs.

Roughly 50 posts per year, probably all trying to start trouble.

Tommy Stevens is an outstanding back up who can absolutely run this offense, and run it efficiently. To even bring his name up in a conversation like this only spells one word. T-R-O-L-L.

Get lost.
Hey L-O-S-E-R,

I'm not trying to start anything or assuming anything. Unfortunately people transfer because playing time is important to them and was wondering if you were a player in their situation, would you consider it? Nothing more nothing less.

Mark Allen will remain third string for the next two years so if he wants more time may make sense for him. He probably wouldn't start at most P5 schools. Too small

Unfortunately I have to scroll down dozens of thread titles before I find a "non -senseless" one.

Part of the reason I asked is because they play a "one at a time" position on offense, a side of the ball where we rarely substitute.

The backup running backs all played in every game, basically.

Maybe, and this is of course it's a big maybe, these kids are actually happy at PSU for more than just football. Hard to believe, I know.

This is the deal. For some reason, some believe that every kid on a FBS(?) team has aspirations of making football his living. The vast majority of the kids will never play another down of football once their college career is over. Some of them are smart enough to realize this. Maybe they can enjoy being part of a great football team while they are going to school.

I think next years starting Qb has not been decided at this time.

Stevens is the most important non-starter on this team.

One hit away and really the likelihood is quite high. McSorley was great at avoiding hits but he was a little lucky too. Just given the nature of the game, and given the kind of qb McSorley is, it's unlikely he goes through a whole second season without something happening. Stevens is ready - you can see how ready every time he goes in there. Stevens might have played last fall when McSorley was banged up, but he probably wasn't ready. Now he's ready.

In the minority, but I think it is a good subject for discussion, especially given our scholarship limitations. We are going to have to have some attrition if we are going to fit in some of the four star kids (Confliffe, Bowden etc) we are still pursuing.

Stevens might be a candidate to leave coming out of spring if Zembiec passes him. Allen is a fourth string, scat back at this point behind Barkley, Sanders and Robinson. If he wants more playing time he could very well leave.

There aren't really too many other scholarship kids who are good candidates to move on. Maybe Nick Scott?

There was a place for each of the Ohio State Qb's....Miller. Jones & JT.......promotes the need for necessity = The Mother of invention, a very good position and could be a really good offensive juggernaut.

I wouldn't be surprised if Daesean Hamilton decides to be a grad transfer like Geno Lewis or just move on with his degree into the real world. I personally hope this doesn't happen because even though his numbers keep going down since his redshirt freshman year, he makes a lot of important catches and is a leader of the WR group.

If I'm Tommy Stevens, I'm at PSU another year and work my tail off to complete my degree. Then if JoMo takes a head coaching job after next season, I have the option of grad transferring with him and can run his O for two seasons.

I saw a tweet from yesterday that said Hamilton announced he is returning to PSU for his 4th season.

If (as the OP) you were a troll and asked to leave a number of times, would you continue to beat a stupid point to death?
Cuz you always talk about the most interesting stuff.
