Still had three years remaining on the original six year contract.....IMHO Illinois is INSANE adding two more years at this point in time.

When you have a beard like that on the sideline you make sure you lock it up.
I give them credit for trying something new - continuity.
In their situation, Lovie is hardly the problem. They have little to lose by doubling down with a proven NFL winner. There’s a lot to sell recruits in an iffy B1G West.
