Where's Rutgers, which won the first game ever by a 6-4 score over Princeton?

I heard that mentioned during the game. Ro, do you know what the source is? On https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/penn-state, their total is only 877.
I used to use cfbdatawarehouse.com at one time for historical data but it no longer exists. Great site, had scores of every game, coaches records, plus Div II and III.

Yeah I miss that site. It was amazing.

I just got it off wiki. Heard the announcers say the same thing.

As a follow up - losses of the top 8 (soon to be nine) winningest teams in CFB

Michigan - 346
Ohio State - 325
Alabama - 331
Texas - 375
Yale - 380
Notre Dame - 326
Oklahoma - 327
Nebraska - 395

but this may not updated as of recent games. ...

I think that is good company. Hopefully we will get 900 this season but not getting my hopes up. Did they play football during the WW2 years?

Yes, but isn’t number of MNC’s that count and last I knew Pitt had 72 of them.

Some good information.

The Indiana debacle was worse.

Oh, no doubt. Shouldn't have gotten clobbered by Maryland either. My point was that, had Penn State won, they would've had a chance to pass Nebraska in total wins this year. No way to do it now.

I think we will certainly pass Yale, and catching Nebraska is quite possible. I’m not sure that we will overtake anyone else within my lifetime.

Oddly enough, if things go our way, we could have 901 wins at end of 8 game season, and then play Nebby again for the ninth wild card game. That would give PSU the opportunity to tie Nebby at 902, assuming Nebby plays their last two opponents like they played against most opponents not named Penn State.

Nebraska didn't even play that well against Penn State for a full game. The game was handed to them with turnovers and terrible coaching decisions. If there is a rematch, I expect Penn State to blow them out.

How long until we catch Alabama?
Well, if we go undefeated for the next 23 seasons, and Alabama loses just 1 game a season in that same timespan; 23 years. We are knocking on the door ;)
