In honor of Abraham Lincoln's birthday

Is that a confederate $5 bill?

that it is. The belief is that he acquired it as a souvenir when he visited Petersburg and Richmond in the preceding weeks, and placed it in his wallet, but I haven't seen any definitive proof of where he obtained the confederate $5 dollar bill.

Lincoln's pocket contents were given to his son, Robert Todd Lincoln, after Lincoln passed away. They remained in the Lincoln family until 1937, when Lincoln's granddaughter, Mary Lincoln Isham, gave them to the Library of Congress.

Yes good thread I typed hastily before, Living with Lincoln was about a family that had amassed like 100,000 photographs of Lincoln. I am really in to early photography and found it really interesting. It also had a lot of their own family history but really interesting. There were some great images .
