Now, my list is honest-to-goodness factual.

I may not remember all the greats (to me anyway) I've seen pitch in person with this posting, but I will add those later that escape me now.

In no particular order:

1. Nolan Ryan
2. Tom Seaver
3. Bob Gibson.
4. JR Richards
5. Don Drysdale
6. Sandy Koufax
7. Juan Marichal
8. Greg Maddox
9. Steve Avery
10. Gary Gentry
11. Steve Carlton
12. Phil Neikro
13. John Candelaria
14. Jim Bibby
15. Don Gullet
15. Tug McGraw
16. Ferguson Jenkins
17. The BIG Unit - (name escapes me) Randy ? Johnson is it??
18. Don Sutton
19. John Tudor
20. Bruce Kison (The Kid)
21. Bert Blyleven
22. Bob Veale

I'll stop/pause here for now and do some more reflecting.

Maybe some of you will post names of pitchers that I did see but did not list here initially.

Take it away folks!

I saw Candelaria's MLB debut. The Giants had his signs.

I've seen Seaver, Rick Rueshel (AND Bruce Sutter), Ed No-Hit Halicki, Randy Johnson.

Just in Miami I got to see Dontrelle Willis, Kevin Brown, Jose Fernandez, Josh Beckett, Josh Johnson, AJ Burnett, Ricky Nolasco, Anibal Sanchez, and on and on...

Saw all the Braves pitchers in WPB (before it became a slum). I used to play w/ Maddux/Schmoltz/Glavine once in awhile - they were members where I worked. Avery was the only one that would go out w/ us afterwards (He was just a kid).

Awesome list Glove, you have seen some great baseball. I was more of an AL guy, watching many games in Baltimore’s Memorial Stadium. Some who I recall include Oriole greats Jim Palmer, Dave McNally, Pat Dobson, Mike Cuellar, Scott McGregor, and opponents Dennis McClain in the season when he won 30, Ron Guidry, Luis Tiant, Bill Lee, Mariano Rivera, Blyleven, Mike Scott, Vida Blue, Catfish, … some great memories in these names

No Gaylord Perry? He was a hoot to watch.

I’m really impressed you can remember all of these pitchers that you’ve seen over the years. Very impressive list of talent and something to be proud of.
I’ve been to lots of games over the years but I can’t name one starting pitcher from any of them.

Spelled “Veale” incorrectly. 🤣

Edit: my first baseball game ever was at Three Rivers. I saw Richie Hebner and Nolan Ryan in a cow milking contest that night. I also recall we (buccos) lost 4-3 or 3-2.

I was on 2 week Army Reserves summer camp at Fort Drum with Wayne Twitchell of the Phillies the year he made the all star team. I think it was 1973. Everyone wanted to play catch with him.

Saw Jim Palmer pitch a no-hitter in Baltimore, 1969.
One September Sunday morning when I worked for the Flyers I took my kids into the "office" to clean off my desk with the intention of seeing the Phillies game at the Vet in its last season. My wife needed a sanity break with us out of the house. After working and walking around a bit we bagged the game instead went to The Penrose Diner for lunch and then drove home. Kevin Millwood pitched a no-no that day.

Great Shakes! Missed opportunity.............

I met Bob Feller….does that count?
The only ones I’ve seen that really stick in my memory were Nolan Ryan and Fernando Valenzuela. I attended the 2011 all star game so I saw a bunch there including Roy Halladay and Clayton Kershaw.

I saw several of the greats on your list.
How about this: I watched Glavine, Smoltz and Maddox all pitch in the minors in South Carolina.

My dad used to take me to games at Forbes Field when I was young.

Not only did I see Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax pitch but I also got to see Juan Marichal pitch AND SEE Willie McCovey 2-balls over the roof at Forbes Field.

My dad, who was 15 years old at the time, saw Babe Ruth's last 3 homeruns hit at Forbes Field.

How's that for family history.

The ten players who homered over the roof were Ruth, Beard, Mickey Mantle, Wally Moon, Bob Skinner (2); Eddie Matthews (2): Jerry Lynch; Rusty Staub; Willie McCovey (2); and Willie Stargell (7).

FIrst game I ever attended was in 1974, and I saw Jerry Reuss start for the Pirates against the Phillies. I was eight years old and my biggest memory from that game is Mario Mendoza hitting a triple. I saw Tom Seaver pitch against the Pirates in 1978. The Reds won the game 6-4, but I went home happy because Willie Stargell hit a home run. I have also seen Bert Blyleven, Bruce Kison, Jim Rooker, Don Robison, John Cendelaria, Jon Matlack, Jim Longborg, Bill Bonham, Nino Espinosa, Rick Mahler, Larry McWilliams, Tim Wakefield, Jon Lieber, Josh Fogg, Cole Hamels, Homer Bailey, Jeff Locke, AJ Burnett, Zach Duke and many others. I think Blyleven was actually the starting pitcher for the Pirates in the Seaver game. They are obviously the two best pitchers I have seen.

I've seen a good number of MLB games, mostly in Baltimore or in Phila, despite not being a Phillies fan. I saw each of the great Orioles 1969-1971 staff members pitch at least once. Saw Carlton a couple times. Saw Seaver as a Met in late 60s pitch vs. the Reds. I like that so many of you all can recall exactly who you've seen pitch. I can recall only the more really memorable games.

A few games that I was incredibly lucky to see:

1969: Mike Cuellar took a no hitter into the 9th vs. the Twins. Caesar Tovar broke it up with a one out single. O's won in a low-scoring game, with Cuellar throwing a complete game one-hitter shutout.

1971: In SF, saw Phil Niekro pitch vs. Juan Marichal. Braves won, Willie McCovey hit a HR for SF.

1971: Saw a Sunday DH at the Vet vs. the Pirates. Both high-scoring games. Stargell and Clemente both homered, one in the 1st game, one in the 2nd. I remember there were a few ground rule doubles because the ball would jump off the new Astroturf like a superball.

1973: In Oakland, saw Vida Blue pitch vs. Jim Bibby and the Texas Rangers. Bibby threw a no-hitter. Vida went the distance, gave up a 1st inning Grand Slam to Jeff Burroughs. Final was like 6-0 or so.

1978: Carlton threw a 10-hit shutout in Phila vs. SF. John "The Count" Montefusco pitched for SF. Schmidt hit a HR.

1992: Saw the first ever game in Camden Yards. Daughter was a week old, had to get special dispensation from wifey to go. Orioles beat the Indians 2-0 behind Rick Sutcliffe's strong game.

I was gifted with seats right behind home plate at Yankee Stadium by a local well connected sportswriter. I'm pretty sure it was 1978 and Catfish Hunter was pitching.
I was in awe of how much his pitches moved.
In my lifetime, I have seen great magicians on the mound (guys who could put the ball where they wished) like Whitey Ford, Warren Spahn and Greg Maddux.
Too me, at his very brief peak, for dominance, there was no one like Sandy Koufax.
