It is funny to me that some of the reasoning for this is along the lines of “now everyone will leave players and coaches alone since the info will be released two hours before the game”…there is still the race to get that info earlier and get ahead of any line moves.
I get the Iowa crack, but gambling is the only reason for this to happen. Otherwise, it doesn't make a damn difference. Other than fans may not see their favorite player.
Yep, it is so that people close to a program don’t some how use insider info….. sell it to gamblers….. tell friends or family…..With gambling so huge and everywhere this is a big problem.

I’m quite sure that he has no interest in disclosing anything about the players/program that he wouldn’t normally have to disclose.
Just disclosing who isn't available 2 hours prior shouldn't be a big deal but you're probably right. I'm sure some coaches will dislike this more than others.
