Yes, ND fans are insufferable. So are OSU's, Michigan's, and others. I am a Penn Stater, and I think PSU fans are just as insufferable as any. I have many business colleagues, all avowed CFB fans, from many different states and schools, and they think PSU fans are the most annoying and self-righteous fans around. And most thought this before Sandusky. Who's to judge?

Never posted before because I just retired; never had time to do chat boards. As for your pizza delivery quip, over my 55 years, I have opened and owned 3 separate law and PR firms across this great land. Also spent 2 years fighting in the Mekong Delta--go look up Operation Marauder; you may learn something about speaking with honor. I believe that life gives me the right to voice my opinion. I can be a PSU FB fan without being part of a cult. Geez you people are nutty...and mean.

That's a good question. I'll take a crack at it from my point of view at least. I was born in Butler PA and grew up a Pittidiot. My family moved to Carlisle between 2nd and 3rd grade. This is around the first time I'm learning of this Pennsylvania State University place. I stayed a Pittidiot, though I respected the blue and white because almost every friend was a "Nitter".
Around 10th grade I started thinking about where I wanted to go to college. Pittsburgh seemed rather scary to me -- I was told how dangerous big cities could be (not that it was true, but how was I to know). So I thought about other places like Syracuse, North Carolina and that tiny little camping trip in the middle of the Keystone State. My parents quickly ruled out providing any assistance if I went out of state, so I became a full fledged Nittany Lion around the end of my junior year of high school (when I decided I was attending PSU and didn't bother applying to any other school).
I can't speak for what happens to a Pitter that PRETENDS to be a PSU fan. They may very well die a little inside. But when a Pitter actually becomes a PSU fan, they come to life. The world is much larger, smells a lot better and Saturday's are much happier. Though, you may note that the decline of Pitt and the start of PSU winning National Championships coincided with my decision to "flip" from Pitt to Penn State. You guys all owe me a beer for that.

55 and went to Nam. That doesn’t compute. I went in 68 and was twenty-two, and I was born in 45. That would make him 55 and born in around 63. Since it was over in 75 that means he was there at 12 years of age at best. I don’t think so. By the way if you kept track of all these numbers you’re a better man then me.
