Pretty clear that Ohio State has stopped calling him. They didn't officially pull the offer but other players are a higher priority for Meyer. I'd have to think PSU is in the same posture. The fight is over Oweh and Smith and maybe others. Parsons will land where the others don't go. And he may be a great player, but it's risky for whoever gets him.

I'm not as adamantly opposed to having him join PSU as I was a few months ago, but I won't lose any sleep if he opts elsewhere.

Huh?

Penn State is not only continuing to recruit Parsons, but they are probably - IMHO - the favorite to sign him. Whether some fans would love or hate for that to happen.

Penn State in undoubtedly the favorite to land him at this point. In fact, I've heard a number of rumors that he's a "silent commit" at this point, of course, anything could still happen.

As for the other 2: I say Smith to PSU, Oweh to OSU.

If Franklin is still recruiting him, that's good enough for me, it means in Franklin's calculations the benefits outweigh the risks.

But it looks like Meyer and Franklin are really battling for Smith and Oweh because they're also great players who don't need to be twitter celebrities.

Maybe to Parsons' credit, he hasn't made news with his tweets since he suggested that Meyer bench Barrett. And really all of his behavior seems to add up to insecurity and immaturity (which he admits). So maybe it's all ok now.

Parsons is visiting Oklahoma this weekend....somewhat random unless I missed OU being in his top list (and i may have). I think this combined with a lot less chatter about Nebraska just seems to indicate Parsons' status still very much up in the air and PSU has not unequivocally guaranteed him a spot.

Maturity issues can be cured if he gets in the right situation and has the right mentorship. I think he's being humbled a bit by some his mistakes (which are probably overblown compared to a lot of the problems of other recruits - see Hardy) as he seems to have gotten a message and toned down things a bit.

One things for sure. The staff knows Micah a lot better than anyone. If they think he will fit in with the program it would be foolish to not save a spot for him.

He decommitted after CJF talked to him about continuing to take visits after committing, and then tOSU cooled on him after the tweet about benching JT Barrett. Neither was a case of pulling a scholarship offer, but they were messages to say that certain actions are not agreeable.
I think the fact that Parsons is all of a sudden hearing that he isn't number 1, no matter what he says or does will be a good lesson for him.
