With our lack of success of recruiting DT's, it always interest me when they talk about moving a bigger framed DE to DT. I'm talking about Ryan Buccholz and Kamonte Carter. After next season we are going to need an infusion of talent at DT.
With that said How heavy do you have to be, (or what is the lightest weight) you can play DT at? I just saw something where Buccholz is up to around 260-265lbs. Can someone please tell me what Kamonte Carter is weighing in at these days. Because I heard he has gotten significantly bigger, as well.
These two guys look really good. And if they could get to the ideal weight, they both should play DT. I say this for two reasons:
1. We have enough players right now in: Simmons, Sickels, Miller, and Givens to play DE.
2. The biggest reason is to have your best players on the field. Instead of just sticking an Avg. DT in there that just because he got the size.
So again, what is the lightest you could get by and be a productive DT. And please tell me what Kamonte Carter's current weight is
