Always funny how much variation you can see among bats. Here’s a cool fungo story.

Hate the Yankees, but good for them. I always wondered why guys used end loaded bats when the last 3 inches of the bat was useless with regard to hitting distance and exit velocity. made the bat seem heavier than it actually was to me when I played. So not only does this new model put more of the barrel and weight at the sweet spot, but it balances out the feel where guys can probably get a little bit more bat speed.
The Yanks had 9 homers yesterday with the new bats. They had only 2 homers the day before with the same bats. The sample size is much too small to draw any conclusions about the bats. We will be able to draw valid conclusions around the time of the All-Star game.
It will probably help a lot in raising batting averages as the bats should be easier to control.
And expect pitchers to start throwing on the outside edge more. Smaller contact surface on the end should mean more pop ups or ground balls.
Maybe see more broken bats. On the other hand, center of bats should be stronger say maybe less broken bats. 🤷🏾♂️
