Iowa Schedule Out

Not really their fault, but their B1G schedule is really weak without tOSU, PSU and Michigan.
That schedule is completely ridiculous. How on Earth can anyone talk about "growing the sport", when there is no PSU, tOSU or Michigan on their slate. BIG 10 needs to find a way to make the big time programs meet every year. This isn't rocket science.
Not Iowa's fault? Really? All that was required for Iowa and Penn State to wrestle a dual this season was for Brands to agree to bring his team to State College.
I guess I should rephrase, it's not all Iowa's fault. It is really the BIG's responsibility to ensure that the top programs wrestle each other annually.
Last year I spoke with a guy who never watched wrestling, but he said, Man it is really popular. The reason he said that is because Michigan had huge crowds against tOSU and Iowa. PSU had huge crowds with tOSU and Michigan. Iowa and tOSU had an insane crowd also. He saw that stuff on little clips on a sports channel. The big meets mean a lot for the sport and an effort should be made to have them. The Iowa OSU Kinnick Field thing was huge. It is a shame for the fans that Iowa could not find at least one of the top 3 to wrestle.
Other than Ohio State and Michigan in football the Big10 conference is never going to acknowledge one or two specific schools are more significant than others.
Tom Brands has said in the past Penn State and Iowa need to wrestle every year, Cael says it in any conversation you have with him on the subject.
The Big10 has their rotating schedule and there is no secret to when PSU and Iowa rotate off each other's schedule. There should be no big deal in agreeing to alternate trips. PSU traveled. Iowa is due to reciprocate and travel.
The Iowa fans will protest loudly, but the only reason they aren't wrestling is because Brands would not agree to travel to PSU.
If the staff had agreed to travel again to Iowa City, this matchup would be on the schedule.
I really wish the next time they off each other's schedule Cael would just say the hell with it and schedule Iowa State and UNI.

Heck, you could even say a few Penn State fans believe he doesn't want the beating, so he isn't volunteering to bring a squad to State College until he believes he has a team that can compete with Penn State.

Brands won't come to State College for a non B1G dual unless his Hawks are favored, or at least 50/50. He’s a dumb one, but not nearly as dumb as an Ohio State nose-picker named ZarZarsDad. Insisted we’d lose last year before the season started because we lost the senior leadership of Morelli and JG. He was saying this even before Ryan’s poaching.
Sounds like Brands bears it's a responsibility, however, The B1G is more responsible. They need to acknowledge realty, that some programs are bigger historically and bigger in present success. Period. Their failure to do so is on them.
So far, the majority of the rumor mill has Zahid still @174. We'll see. I was hoping Anthony could eat again. Anyway, too bad Bo didnt move up to 197 earlier to avoid Gabe Dean. Oh wait...

Several of us believe he knows he isn't going to win so why bother is the reason. If there is a better reason please enlighten.
Zahid's weight has yet to be confirmed. Maybe Bo is "running" to Warner. Somebody from Iowa he hasn't decked yet, quickly.
I don't think he claimed Bo is running from Zahid -- rather is using that line to say Brands running from PSU is just as silly.
Whatever. I lost interest in why Iowa won't face PSU non-conference. I'd rather see it than not -- but am not losing any sleep over it. If they don't want to face us, find someone who does.

Ah, El Jefe had a good point. Anyway, hopefully there's still time to get a dual scheduled. We need to flood Tom's and Cael's twitter accounts.
Fortunately, its pretty flat between Iowa City and Stillwater. No Donner's Pass to navigate.

2 truths. If Cael was willing to say screw it, Brands is never going to bring his team here for an extra meet so what the heck, yes we will travel again to Iowa City. This match would have been scheduled. If Brands had been willing to bring his squad to State College, the meet gets scheduled.
