Evil empire looking strong....up 12-0 after 2 matches

A 3/4 Nelson by Gillman and a suck back into a spike for clark.....

Goofs looking rather goofy so far

They better stop Goofing around or they're going to look a lot like a Division III team.

Thorn 6-4 over The Savior Grothus.

Sorensen 6-2 over Short, takedown with under 20 sec left to clinch.

Grothus looked good....he will be a hard out no doubt.

Sorenson just needs to get a killer instinct in my mind i think if he committed to it he could have majored short.

Is Iowa a team that sucks a bunch of weight? Several of their guys have that hollow check, sunken face look. Not a happy looking bunch despite the score.

How could The Savior have lost... when he was deified by Iowa fans? There's always that one guy who's going to get them to the next level. Tonight... The Savior was a tad... off. He wasn't blessed enough by Iowa fans on HR or God must have taken off after the snow storm hit the east and kept his "beast" at bay. Keep praying... my Iowa brothers. o_O

Kingsley sucks. That was brutal. A great wrestler and coach like Jim Gibbons must be beside himself at those half-assed attacks.

157 was awful. The goof kid shot 5-6 times and the hawk kid 0. Gibbons says the goof kid is fortunate to be in it? He also said the goof staff want him to push the action. Hawk should have at least (3) stall calls. Turned off the sound.

Gibbons is bad tonight, extra

Burak-Pfarr was a ton of fun. Really think it was 2 for Burak at the end.

Also, I really hope Sam Stoll is managing that cut to 285 safely

Felt bad for the Minny HWT. He took all of the shots, but ends up losing on counters. I don't think Stoll took a shot.

Well when your opponent practices digging his head in the sand, straight-on... Would you go incredibly out of your way to stop him?

And I hate Iowa. Hate them. Every fiber of me wanted MN to pull out an upset SOMEWHERE. But yeah, that was rough to watch. Imagine Zain-Tsirtsis in dual form.

Wow, the Gophers looked bad. How the mighty have fallen. The thing that stood out most was how unathletic their guys look for a top tier program.

Grothus has looked pretty good his last two matches; think we have seen the last of Carton. I still have my doubts he will have a real impact at 141.

Where is Jammen at?

He is moderating a thread on the guillotine about psu troll infestation there.....Seems ironic...don't you think.

There's really starting to be a groundswell for JRob to bow out, but you still have the cadre of die-hards who insist he go out "on his own terms". The same people on our football board who took that stance through the 2000s and wanted Joe Pa to coach until he was 120, are the same people today who bring him up in every other post. I don't quite get the idolatry. It's not like these guys are doing the job for free. Don't perform - improve or hit the pike.

Some have overly high hopes for their red shirts - I think they need a lot more help.

The RS theory is just that a theory. Next year from a fan base perspective could be bad because all they have is the future.

Their RS aren't tearing it up in unattached action, their returning starters are what they are and their recruiting future looks to be mediocre with top in state recruits continuing to leave.

If I'm wrong jamz will be along to provide tidbits

In my lair licking my wounds.

Zain is going to destroy Sorenson .....Put your money on it !!!!

Gibbons was brutal, like he was concussed. He could barely string together a coherent thought or sentence. Maybe having Shane Sparks in constant close proximity will do that to you?

This. Kroells took the only two shots of the bout and both times ended up on the wrong end of a counter TD from Stoll.

I sat next to Shane Sparks for the entire 2011 National Tournament in Philadelphia as he did in arena broadcasting at the mat I was scoring. I found him to be an unbelievably knowledgeable wrestling announcer and his high energy is invigorating compared to Jim Gibbons monotone voice. Shane Sparks is passionate about wrestling and I learned so much sitting next to him during the tourney. Was nothing short of a great experience. Also, at that time, he was being paid to announce at that particular mat. At that time, sitting next to him, I never thought that would gravitate to a tv job with the BTN, but sitting here today... I knew he was knowledgeable enough and passionate enough.

Shane would bring as many wrestling publications as possible to the Wells Fargo Center to give as many pertinent stats as he could during the matches he was announcing. Dude was a pro.

I wonder what Jim is trying to say sometimes also.

I'll take Retherford, but I think "destroy" is a bit much.

I agree that "destroy" is a bit much. That said, I'm more confident than ever Zain beats Sorensen. Not much doubt at all. Hawkeye fans might have that match at 55-45, with Zain the slight fave. I'd go 90-10 in favor of Zain.

Zain 100%.... Sorensen... 0%. I wouldn't go with destroy... but again... I wouldn't be surprised it Zain did.

Agree about Shane. Gibbons is either saying "laces up" or "head higher wins the scramble".

Agreed, Zain appears to be on another level, I don't see Sorenson beating him.
i agree that Zane is going to win, but don't forget how the tempo of matches can go... If Sorenson gets the first td (like if Clagon could of finished one of his) then the match is going to turn a bit and will be tight. In other words if Zane scores first it will be a big day, if Soreson scores first it is going to be tight -jmo

I do think Zain destroys Sorenson. I don't think it's going to be close. It will be a major or better. Sorenson will only score escapes if he scores at all.
