Is Norvel coaching the Cotton Bowl???

Not so fast,

The current plan is for Silverfield to coach the Tigers (12-1) in the Cotton Bowl against Penn State on Dec. 28. They landed the spot in the Cotton Bowl after beating Cincinnati 29-24 in the American Athletic Conference championship on Saturday. Veatch said both Memphis and Norvell would like to see him coach the Tigers in that game, but the decision won't be made until Norvell sees how his schedule unfolds at Florida State.

Not so fast... it’s up to him.....
Memphis: Athletic director Laird Veatch says that the current plan is for running backs coach Ryan Silverfield to coach the team in the Cotton Bowl unless Mike Norvell decides he wants to come back for it, and that particular conversation with Norvell will happen at a later date.

With the portal system I wouldn't let him near any players and risk him recruiting anyone. College ball.......meh, all sports..... has become to corrupt.

it looks like he is not.....

Memphis: In a letter to Memphis fans published in the Daily Memphian, Mike Norvell announced he will not coach the Tigers in the Cotton Bowl.

Good news: Memphis doesn't have the talent that coachless Georgia team had.
Bad news: except for the NY6 bragging right and some good cash to spread around the B1G, this really is a win-yawn, lose-lose bowl situation.
