He has it all at Alabama, a supportive administration, the ability to bring in any kid, great facilities, a storied tradition, big time boosters, etc. But having the potential to win it all and doing it are two different things and for the most part, his teams have come through when the bright lights are shining. Yet at Michigan State, he left in part, as he felt MSU would always be #2 in the state. Mark Dantonio changed that (at least for while), does that make him the greatest? Clearly not. What about a Bill Snyder who took one of the worst programs in the US to national prominence? It nosedived when he retired, forcing the school to bring him back. But he never won it all. Who else do you put in the conversation, who has done it repeatedly at different schools. Seems it all points to Urban. Is he better than Saban?
