I know this is mostly a sports issue, but these things are being voted upon by elected officials and often deal with public institutions, etc, and I wanted to take the temperature after a spirited debate with a friend that works in college athletics.
California unanimously passed a bill allowing college athletes to profit off endorsement deals. The NCAA, naturally, is not pleased, calling it "unconstitutional" (calling something anti-American/constitution is the move these days), without stating specifically how exactly it would be. But isn't this something that most everyone (as in the public) can get behind? Am I wrong in thinking that?
