ISU loses another recruit

Not a huge surprise. Smith was HS teammates with Pletcher before moving to Maryland.

Not a big deal I can handle the criticism as in Iowa fan but it's very hypocritical of the shots you take Brands and his Double class. Sanderson had the same benefit and why wouldn't kids go with the coach they want to be with in the first place? I knew most of those Iowa boys personally and they were all huge Iowa fans and were loyal to Brands which is the only reason they went out of state. Why wouldn't they come home with him? They forfeited a
year of wrestling also. Again if you're just having fun that's one thing but if you're uneducated and don't realize your coach did the same thing you need to get educated . I don't post here to troll or cause problems just giving you a Hawkeye perspective - Take it or leave it!

Here's some education you seem to be lacking. Sanderson won a championship with no transfers in the lineup in 2012, Sanderson won a championship with no transfers or guys who were released from a prior LOI in 2016. While Penn State has maintained a high level of team performance, Iowa has gone down hill since the transfers left. Until Tom Brands proves he can win a championship without transfers, there is in fact a big difference between the two.

Oh God, do we have to endure this debate again?

You're correct about 2016 but in 2012 from my memory he had DT in the lineup I believe. While DT hadn't yet enrolled at ISU yet, he still needed a release from his LOI.

Brands took guys with him who had been provided a free year of education by V-Tech and gave nothing in return. Cael didn't do this at all. Cyler was the only one he took that had received anything from ISU. Brands left the program to die and lit a fire on his way out the door, but KJ was left a top 5 program with a ton of horses in the stable. It is very much like comparing littering with triple homicide.

I'm not all that worried about the KJ recruits. Dresser needs a year or 2 and he will be able to pull recruits. ISU isn't probably going to pull too many top ten overall type guys until the program stabilizes and the fans return. I am optimistic at this time because of the train wreck Dresser fixed before. It will be doable in Ames.

Noticed tOSU also picked up Heinselman recently. Intriguing recruit if he can ever add size.

What year did Long come over? Know you won Nationals by good margin but if I recall only beat Hawks by 1 or 2 in big tens. No big deal but why can't you guys lay this bull shirt on Brands if you are that stupid no sense discussing this.

Edit I'm to lazy to look it up

In this case, it's probably better for all Iowa fans to continue ignoring the real facts (as opposed to the made-up ones) and not look it up.

This. Add to it the embarrassment Brands brought to the VT program by his 1-15 second season because he was not putting his best team on the mat and it was a triple whammy. It was the atom bomb of program destruction. How anyone can defend Brands' pillaging of the VT program and/or compare Cael's situation with ISU is so far beyond my comprehension. Do you think anyone who does is left with a shred of credibility?

If I am not mistaken, Jackson's first team finished third in the NCAA's. How did Dresser's first team fare?
