When we got to the three in the 4th quarter I turned to my friend and said "watch, we will run the ball up the middle for the first three downs and then try to trick them by passing on fourth down." Our coaches are so predictable, unfortunately.
The game was offensive coordinator malpractice. I was a believer in all of the hype surrounding him, no more.
Inexcusable.
The game was simply too big for the whole team. Mistakes, mistakes, dumb penalties, terrible coverage on defense. All of the major flaws you can attach to coaching.

I find it hard to believe that Coach K called three running plays up the middle at the end. And without Warren touching the ball. If so, he’s caught the “shrinkage” ailment that afflicts Franklin which is troubling.
It was not OC malpractice, it was as usual Head Coach malpractice. It does not matter who the OC is, every game that is against a top rated team, Franklin puts definitive restrictions on what plays the OC is allowed to call. As proof, the play calling in this game was completely different than the play calling in every other game this year. We’ve seen this year in and year out, over many OC’s.
I even said before the game the reason I was more confident than usual is that I didn’t think AK would allow JF to turtle up in the 4th quarter. I was wrong - CJF rules with iron thumb.
Should I know who these people are? Odd conversation to have while doning a college wrestling shirt.
I’m part of a special team at work doing something interesting that I can’t elaborate on here. There are four Penn State alumni on our team. Unfortunately, we don’t get the opportunity to go in Monday morning acting exceptionally insufferable. But ….. wrestling season has started! WE ARE. …..
Golly - I absolutely used to hate going into work on Mondays after a FB loss. All the joyful needling hurt. Fortunately after a decade with Sir James and the wonders of muscle memory …. I’ve learned to accept the pain with more grace.
My acceptance that PSU was less than the standard bearer began to take hold well before Franklin. What's changed is it used to be PSU's really good teams were capable of beating OSU and/or a good Michigan team. That isn't true anymore. Really good PSU teams used to just line up and beat you up. That isn't the case anymore either.
FIFY. Don't forget there is another PSU team that beats up tOSU and Michigan on a regular basis! 😁
Since I was talking about the team that Franklin would be relevant to I probably did not think it necessary, but OK.
