IT help needed -- website security issue?

Can't access BWI from my laptop.

Firefox error code: SSL_ERROR_PROTOCOL_VERSION_ALERT

IE: "might be because the site uses outdated or unsafe TLS security settings."

I'm able to access other websites on both browsers, and can access BWI on my phone.

Clear the history, temp files and cookies to start with.


If that doesnt work go into internet options and make sure you allow TLS

3rd try a different browser like chrome

Try a different browser. I had same issue on IE, but can access on Chrome.

Last week my company sent a mandatory removal order to the folks that were still using Firefox. IT was all over one of my co workers to get it off his laptop quickly. No explanation as to why though.

I work in IT. We received a bulletin about the exact error code. It said the code is triggered by too many visits to porn sites from a browser. Try deleting all the suspect bookmarks.

That’s ridiculous. Firefox is a much more secure browser, generally.

This sound like a certificate authority may have expired in older browsers., or possibly that Chrome is now warning for older encryption methods.

I couldn't access bwi on explorer or chrome on my iPad. On my PC, explorer also didnt work but Chrome did. Weird.

Yeah I don’t know. Chrome seems to be my company’s browser of choice. Most communications we get are about making sure things are up to date or do not update. But this was a very clear get rid of it.
