It looks like Pitt fan Ron Carnevali's twitter page is down....

Has anyone contacted Spencer Custer?
I actually went to their homepage yesterday and accidentally found myself on an "send email" page. Now, I'm a cautious, reasonable man so I just closed the page and went around my business, but, thinking about it this morning, I'm sure that more than a few others found themselves where I was and decided to let their feelings be known.

I would never dream of embarrassing my family or my employer through social media, and I try to be really careful what I say and how I say it. It's my personality, but it's also, I'm sure, a sense of responsibility and respect for others in my life I'm thinking of here. This guy, really, WTF was he thinking? Did he ever think of how poorly this would go over?

This board is my sole social media presence, by the way. Just saying. I'm sure people can figure out who I am, where I work, so I try not to be a horse's ass on this board.

Social media is kind of like a loaded gun sitting on a table. As long as it sits there, and does not get used, it's benign.

If someone who is skilled and experienced knows how to use it, then it can be used in an appropriate manner. If someone who is not skilled and experienced uses it, then you never know what kind of damage they can inflict....including to themselves.

If he is, or was, a member of the Pitt Board of Trustees, and he is publicly commenting on recruits who either did or did not commit, is he not in violation of NCAA recruiting rules?

Social media doesn't ruin stupid people. Stupid people ruin stupid people.

P.S. 'ro, I love the signature pic. Mox is an idiot.

I know who you are and you are a good guy. The majority of this board, are good people.

I sent them an e-mail suggesting he be disciplined. I asked them to respond, though I said I didn't expect a response.

Spence Custer is a six person law firm. Four of them are partners and Carnevali is one of them. I think you're wasting your time.

Not sure what their specialty is, but one can always use the Social Media network to forward his posts about the issue. Of course, you will be stooping to his level, so there is that stench you will have to deal with.

I've seen 4 different spellings. Is it "C A R N I V A L E" or "C A R N E V A L I" or "C A R N E V A L L I"

Yes, I agree that I am wasting my time in expecting any discipline. But, at the very least, I was not going to leave anything to chance that the other partners would not find out about his latest social transgression. These partners depend on a steady of flow of business, and if one of their partners is engaging in behavior that would not give a favorable look to the firm, then they may get pretty nervous.

The fact that his twitter page is down gives me hope that someone is paying attention.

Note to Penn Staters who may be clients of that firm. If you have power over engaging counsel, it might be worth it to seek alternatives. Law firms of that ilk are eminently fungible. Outside counsel works at my behest. If they fail (or annoy) me, it doesn't take much to shift my business.

You guys have the largest living Alumni network, n'est ce pas? Well, time to start using it.

I just called the firm and expressed my displeasure. I spoke only with the receptionist. While I did not have a face-to-face with her, I don't think my call or correspondence was the first they heard on this issue or this particular partner. When I mentioned Carnevali's (Sp?) name, she did chuckle. That told me that his behavior must be nothing new to them, and they have accepted it as "Ron being Ron" or something like that.

To say this fellow's comments are ridiculously boneheaded is an understatement.

But having said that, it was weirdly refreshing to see someone (especially a Pitt guy) hating at us for reasons unrelated to the events of the last 5 years. So I say kudos to Mr. C.

And the previous thread "Pitt fan & past Pitt Board of Trustees Member upset about Wade" is now locked. Hmmmm?? o_O
On that thread, somebody speculated about his politics.

IDK for certain how he voted most recently. But, he was a Gary Johnson supporter at one point.

His facebook page has a couple PSU posts from 2012. HIs mind was made up early on, of course.

However, there are no posts since 2014. Maybe he has not been active on facebook recently. IDK.

Plus, he is only showing one friend on this page....which is impossible. I think he scrubbed the page at some point....or maybe just switched his social media emphasis to twitter. IDK.

IDK.

I am guessing that his appointment to the Pitt Board might have been as a UPJ representative to the Board.
