It's Witvoet for the Michigan game

He's still alive?
That was literally my thought as well. I haven't seen hide nor hair of him for a long time. I figure they made a clone of him before he died just so they can bring him back for such an occasion. Looking forward to his creative spots and phantom penalty calls.
He may be held in check by the b1g Illumanati because they don't have a chance to get in the playoff but we do.

If the BIG brass have a functioning brain cell they see to it that PSU comes out on top in this game for the good of the conference.

Can Franklin lodge a formal complaint with the league before the game?
Pre-Harbaugh, I’d say that’s an unlucky draw.
Now I’m not so sure.
Whole thing has me puzzled.
Don’t remember seeing him in a while.

Well with Big Blue already having a loss what did you expect? Jimmy D surely will have no part of a meaningless OSU-Mich game if he can help it.

Witvoet called the 2006 Rose Bowl when Texas beat USC for the national championship. IIRC there were some obviously bad calls in that game. It should have been an embarrassment to the Big 10 but as we know, Delany and Co. are hard to embarrass.

It’s interesting how sharply officiating has improved since instant replay. You rarely see the same egregious “mistakes” that you used to. Certainly there are still some like the onsides kick above.

To me, that’s pretty damning evidence

Except when they "don't have the correct video feed" (osu 2014)

Wwwhhaaattt???? The extra five seconds to kick a FG for Oh State? The bounced interception for a td? Bosa ripping off Hack's helmet and nothing called?

Lots of other bad calls since replay.

It's not the calls they make but the ones they don't. Let the offensive line hold and the D backs interfere and I can help Rutgres beat OSU. Well that may be a stretch but you get the idea.

That was the game that the replay, ahem, wasn't "working correctly" while all of us in the stadium could just look up a the big screen and watch what was obvious.

PSU is now the premier team in the league, and SHOULD get all the calls that UM and OSU traditionally received. PSU is not only defending champs, but they've also beaten every B10 team the last time they've played except two. Michigan, which will be fixed in 2 weeks, and an OT loss to Nebraska back in the BS sanction days.

or the ones they selectively call--I swear Oneil was giving Michigan the game against MSU especially that lame ass holding call that stops the clock for another scum time out, essentially.

I thought the holding call was a good one. Granted, many holds are not called, but at least there was holding on the play in question.
