If you look at it from the outside, there is no logical reason why Jay Wright is still at Nova. Major state schools like Kentucky and Maryland have called him in the past. The Sixers at one time called as well. Jay was an assistant for a couple of years at Nova, but not a grad. He went to Bucknell, grew up loving the Big 5. He could have cashed in many times, but the comfort and job security were too great to pass up. His family is happy and he has a great life. This is how I can see things working with Franklin here. Did not go to PSU, he did camp here though. Growing up in PA he fully gets what Penn State football is all about. Unlike his predecessor, he knows what kind of man Joe was what. He knows the mythical nature of the Penn State football program. Like 99% of PA high school football players, he dreamed of playing for Joe Paterno, but did not have the talent. It has taken him twenty plus years but now he has something better, continue what Joe started half a century ago. Plus he is being paid like a Top 10 coach. Just because the previous guy couldn't wait to leave, that doesn't mean James will.
