Early on, some folks seemed to jump on the "Jay Bilas" is a voice of reason wrt PSU.
Just another ESPN mouthpiece. One would think the Duke lacrosse team debacle would give him pause. Nope.
Jay doesn't have time to engage in a thoughtful discussion of the facts of the Sandusky case. He's got rap lyrics to prepare for tomorrow morning.Just another ESPN mouthpiece. One would think the Duke lacrosse team debacle would give him pause. Nope.
Bilas wasn't pro-PSU but he wasn't pitchfork in hand screaming 'she's a witch' either. He basically said that in general, we should let the facts come out but it doesn't look good. If everybody took that approach of Bilas, we would be 90% better than where we are today. He is not the enemy, if Blehar is going to go after someone, go after Brennan or Geiger or somebody that was and still is throwing fuel on the fire.
Go after Brennan or Giger? Would be a better usage of time to try to teach a fish to climb a tree (not that trying to "educate" Bilas is any more likely to be fruitful)Bilas wasn't pro-PSU but he wasn't pitchfork in hand screaming 'she's a witch' either. "Doggedly obtuse" is the term that comes to mind.I'm a Duke guy, but don't have any trouble choosing sides here. Jay Bilas can be an absolute blockhead. Hates to admit he was wrong.
Thanks Zenophile, I don't do the tweets so I would have missed this.
You know there are some posters here who might not know what "obtuse" means and they may call you a show off. Believe me it's true."Doggedly obtuse" is the term that comes to mind.
Until Mike Wise and Jay Bilas demand the firing of fellow ESPN pedophile-enabler Mark Schwarz, they have no credibility on the subject. None.

No doubt, Bilas was less "I am outraged" than 99% of the media......but he was only "anti-NCAA", not "pro-PSU"
Then again, most PSU folks were (and are) more than thrilled to hear from anyone who is NOT all "Christine Brennan/Stephen A Smith/Dan Berstein" wrt PSU, and quickly perceive them as "defenders of the realm" - even when they are not.
?????????????I am not defending Bilas or saying he is correct, I am saying that their are much worse people to spend time on then Bilas in this mess. And your constant demeaning of anybody who is not burn down everybody and anything that does not think the same as you is no different. You need to recognize that going after the people on this board that are 90% in agreement with most of what you say but not 100% in agreement just makes that 90% disagree with everything you have to say.
I hate Twitter.
Ziegler could out-shout most of these blowhards but at the end of the day, they will have the audience and Ziegler will still be Ziegler. And $10K ain't near enough to pay for having to deal with a psycho like Ziegler, not that he would ever pay up.Ziegler would destroy any of these blowhards. JZ has been offering $10K to anyone who can provide evidence that even 1 kid was abused. None of them have stepped up.
Feels good, doesn't it?
The problem is that all of the media/journalist "experts" are so entrenched in their opinions they would face major embarrassment to back track now. It's much easier to call us crazy and walk away then to admit their role in a public lynching and ask for forgiveness.
I hate ESPN a lot more. The pontificating and hypocrisy that emanates from Bristol, CT is mind blowing. Keith Whatshisname, Mike Tirico, Scott Van Pelt, Linda Cohn, and Jay Bilas only begin the list. Frank Isola went on TV the other day and did some pontificating of his own: PSU was wrong to honor Joe. PSU "ignored" the reports of sexual assaults occurring back in the 70's. Herbie is about the only decent guy working for that network.I hate Twitter.
Actually, there are many others that would do a much more effective job than Zig....Ray, Wendy, Ryan, Marie Beth. At the end of the day, reason and intellect will win far more converts than a shouted rant.

That comes after he has fully insulted his intended audience. He really knows how to make them receptive to what he is saying. That softens them up for when he goes into frothing-at-the-mouth ranting.Sorry I didn't make myself clear. It's Zig's delivery that kills his ability to persuade. He gets too excited and then goes into full rant mode. His audience then shuts down and turns off.
It's not his message but his delivery. I too have doubts.
The problem is you can't attack people on Twitter and then expect them to say they are wrong and suddenly see the light. It NEVER works. They will dig in their heels and then obfuscate and ignore anything they don't like. It's human nature.
You have to walk them through it nicely, constructively (over and over if need be) and let them see it as their own logical conclusion (rather than a lecture from an unknown Twitter person).
For all their outrage on television and social media about Joe, they don't give a single sh!t about The Second Mile or any of the child welfare organizations that really did fail the kids. They never give a response when you remind them 1998 and 2001 were both reported outside the University.ChiTown, you need to school Bilas on what Heim also did after informing Raykovitz not to do anything; i.e. provide Jerry with keys to his hotel where he took kids to swim and workout because PSU kicked Jerry off campus. The end result Heim enabled Jerry to further abuse kids for 7 additional years until the Grand Jury Presentment in Nov 2011.
But all of these inconvenient facts don't fit into Bilas's narrow "Duke educated" brain.
Theoretically correct. However, in this situation no matter how it's approached they're going to stick with their narrative. So given that, might as well go into attack mode. Name one media type who will admit to changing/his/her mind on this. You're assuming they're interested in the truth. So may as well belittle the hell out of them. Nothing to lose. The problem is you can't attack people on Twitter and then expect them to say they are wrong and suddenly see the light. It NEVER works. @TimHabazin @ChiTownLionPSU @RayBlehar @JayBilas @MaleSurvivorORG I'm not sure, but this stuff is so sensitive you got to vet it completely.— Mike Wise (@MikeWiseguy) September 19, 2016
He doesn't get clicks for himself on twitter. And he is risking looking foolish to all the people who either follow him or follow the people interacting with him.Do you think Jay even slightly cares or gives credit to anything psu nation has to say? His only interest is eyes and clicks and he has gotten his share from this whole fiasco.
Funny how jay can't come up with anything jvp should have done, but anyone can come up with what mark Schwartz could have done moreTheoretically correct.
