Jay spoke very powerfully last night.
Good stuff:

He always speaks extremely well.
Unfortunately, some asshole will soon post here something negative about Jay. It never fails.
Succinct and powerful..Makes me proud..Well then I ask that anyone that wants to post shit about Jay, to just watch the video first.
In it's entirety.
Then come back and tell us how you really feel. If if it's an asshole comment, then it's an asshole commenting. Because you didn't watch the video.
Very nice. Jay, your Dad would be proud.
I never understood the JayPa hate. I'm not as in tune as many of the insiders on this board so maybe there's some around the town stuff that I don't know about. The only real negative I ever heard about him was that he sent email spam to folks who criticized him but I'm not even sure if that was true. Other than that folks used to hate on him for not being a great recruiter or QB developer and point out that no other programs were interested in hiring him. Those things alone don't make one a bad person imo.
But our great President said at the Maryland Tailgate that our record of graduation rates is because we recruit the "best and brightest".....wonder why that is??Thanks, Wendy. Jay was outstanding, as usual.
Penn State was the only program during Joe's last seven years to win at least 77% of its games and graduate over 80% of its players. That sums up what Joe stood for at Penn State.
I have often used the phrase "I blame Jay"....not because of Jay, but mostly to poke fun at those who constantly blamed him for any offensive shortcomings of the team. It got to the point where anything/everything that went wrong - PSU football or not - prompted me to make the statement.
The people who dislike JayPa will not watch the video first before commenting. Their minds have been molded a long, long, time ago. They don't want to keep an open mind and love to continue their spin on things. They don't want to change their negative narrative of the man. It gives some people a sense of superiority to put others down. It makes them feel good about themselves when they criticize others.Well then I ask that anyone that wants to post shit about Jay, to just watch the video first.

I hope Coach Franklin has an opportunity to listen to this speech and take note the segment about following the current trends in order to be popular with the players.
Perhaps it's time to retire that phrase.

It's similar to politics. Some, don't want to change their minds. These types of people are generally conservatives. Conservatives hate liberals; and nothing the left says or does will ever change their mind(s). Facts are meaningless to some of these people because if they believed the facts, they may have to change mindsets. And they don't want to change their minds. It's sad but true.

I watched the video. And I (being totally honest here) despise Jay.
Jay is a good public speaker. I am not bothered by Jay defending his father.
Jay is also, IMO --- entitled, non-self-aware, and unable to admit the true reason he isn't currently coaching football (hint: it's not the Freeh Report). Is what it is. For reasons discussed many times here, I find his lawsuit against Penn State absurd.
If he'd go be an OC or a QB coach at some FCS school --- jobs that he could probably get if he didn't think they were "beneath" him --- I'd root for him. Honestly, I would. That would require Jay to stop playing the "victim" card and start to re-build his coaching career.

Well, my take on that is that the school did f- him over. I would do the same if I were him. Maybe coaching at another school does not appeal to him. And maybe, financially, he can afford to explore other avenues. Write books, give speeches, etc. You cannot begrudge the man because he is no longer interested in coaching. The school did unfairly take his livelihood away, and he has the right to fight that out in court. I don't have any problem with him pursuing legal recourse.I watched the video.
