Jaydin Eierman arrested

Love seeing all the “holier than thou comments. “ Lock em up, throw away the key”!!!!! “Just do NOT look at my past please and thank you, that closet door is locked for a reason” !!!!

I’m not saying I agree with drunk driving or any of it. But the pontificating on this board doesn’t bode well for this fan base. I encourage us to get off our high horses and fix the faults in our own mirror. Myself included.

As far as Eirman, hope he gets some help. Glad no one was hurt and I hope there are people around him he can get support from. Happy Monday everyone !!!!

You missed an important point. Eierman spent the last two years of his college wrestling career as a Hawkeye! Any offense by a Hawk, no matter how trivial, must be disparaged to extremes by this board lest they begin to believe the mistaken delusion that we are not their natural superiors.

The closer you get to it the more you pontificate. I shoot pool with a great guy in his early 30s. I like him a lot. Wonderful person. When he was 24 he drove drunk and killed a wonderful young woman. He did his 7 years in jail, but that doesn’t bring that young woman back. If we have to jail 100 drunk drivers to save one young woman then I say build more jails.

100% agree on this. A big issue is there is no deterrent. The messaging can't be any louder or more clear how dangerous it is and how avoidable it is. Enough stories have been shared at some worst case scenarios with it (many innocent people die)

The issue is if someone get a DUI and nobody gets hurt, they're going to get off scot free more or less first time with a remotely competent lawyer. License suspension, probation and some classes/community service and it's over. Don't think it's all that common a DUI prevents a hiring either if it shows up on a background check. Hell a more expensive lawyer can probably save someone from their second as well (once again if nobody gets hurt)

There needs to be some real punishment so it gets the message across. Virginia has some of the harshest laws (they do mandatory jail time after a certain BAC) and they're still weak (it's 5-10 days often) Make it 1 year in jail minimum for the first and see what happens.
In PA, DUI laws are strict. Depending on your BAC you can get jail time on your 1st DUI. Installation of a ignition interlock device and loss of license. Then you have to get the ignition interlock checked each month for $50-$90

Our mechanic (in MD) is kept so busy with installing blow and gos, he had to hire a third full time mechanic. It’s crazy how widespread drunk driving still is, despite all the alternative ride options.

In Australia, they have random roadside checkpoints- everyone going through has to submit to a breathalyzer. You never know where the checkpoint will be next.

It’s, like, so unfair.

We have this thing in our country where so many feel it’s a constitutional right to have a fair chance to get away with breaking the law. Even in my younger years of doing stupid stuff I never expected that. I wish more would come around to the higher-accountability side.

Disagree. No cell phone usage while driving. Pull over or get off the highway. The way idiots drive today, it's too risky to drive distracted. Even boisterous passengers need to be shut down. I've pulled off a highway to a safe spot and informed a passenger to quite down or get out and walk. My wife and I have been married for 49 years. We speak while driving all the time. She has her iPhone for quiet browsing but cuts calls short. She's precious cargo and I want to protect us both.
Ain’t it great that a diversity of opinions are occasionally tolerated; especially about sanctimonious advice.

In the Harrisburg area, approx. 40% of traffic fatalities involve an impaired driver.

Mandating those devices (or something similar) in cars is the single best thing you could do to make driving safer.

I say it's time for mandatory level 5 self driving cars. All that we need is $100k per car and another 2 decades to get there.

Then again, once we get there, after 1:00 a m. On the weekends, every car will have drunk 'riders'.

The blow and go are breath analyzers to enable vehicle start, right? I thought for a second there that the wild one was branching out outside of iowa.

Has anyone ever seen a sobriety checkpoint in/around State College on game day? I feel like I’ve never seen one, but I also avoid driving on those days if I can help it. It seems they’d catch a lot of folks with that approach, but it might impact revenue too.

This just in, all three Ferrari brothers this morning signed NIL deals with "Blow and Go Technologies", the nation's leading manufacturer of breathalyzer based vehicle ignition disablers.

However, within 3 hours, AJ became outraged and tore his contract up live on social media when he realized the company's product had absolutely nothing to do with falacio. AJ furrowed his brow, tore his shirt off, flexed, and stated as Mr. Fast twitch he would have nothing to do with any product that would impeed his ability to score more chicks while inebriated.

Then with another look of confusion on his face, he threw his note card at Uncle Carmine in frustration, muttering something about Carmine should know better than using so many 'big words' when writing speeches for the family.
