yeah, that is one bad Steelers franchise. LMAO
I didn't say that. I said "myopic". Try to learn about reading comprehension.
The franchise is myopic. They often stay with players far too long, because they refuse to believe that they could be wrong about anything. They resigned veterans that were long done, because they simply believed they were still great, and it got them into cap problems that they are still trying to dig out of and won't until at least two or three years from now. Held on to Ike too long, held on to Troy too long(although that can be forgiven), stayed with poor offensive line coaching for most of Ben's career until finally hiring Munchak recently. They have neglected the defensive backfield in the draft for no less than 11 consecutive drafts and it has finally caught up to them, losing to Baltimore last year in the playoffs as a direct result of a poor defensive backfield. They have drafted busts that they stay with too long(Jarvis Jones is on the hook right now as it's make or break for him).
Matt Spaeth has done nothing for them, and would not make the roster of nearly every team of the 31 other teams if they cut him loose right now. He can't block, can't run, can't get open, and can't catch. He's tall, that's it.
James should make the team based on his ceiling, talent wise, but he pass Spaeth on the depth chart because the Colbert and Tomlin refuse to admit they could possibly be wrong about anything, and consistently over value veterans. Notice how Ficken wasn't even considered, in order to sign a recently cut VETERAN kicker. We'll see how that turns out.
For the record I am a lifelong Steeler fan, just as much as a PSU fan, so throw that argument out too.
