Ok, so last week against IU barkley came in motion from an empty 5 wide set and took a handoff from mcsorely and ran about 15 yards. this was after struggling to run it up the middle all day. the play was called for a holding on hamilton but it was a great play call nonetheless. i dont think we ran it once after that. considering the current state of our o-line, i think we should be running this much more especially if we have bates (our best lineman) at left tackle. thoughts?

The Jet sweep I remember they keyed on Barkley the entire time and tackled him for a loss.

The IU d knew it was coming.

The jet sweep tends to be more successful when you have success running up the middle, not the case last week.

I remember it the way PSUrob did and though I don't love the jet sweep because of the previous staff running it too much, thought they needed to run it another time or two against Indiana since it worked so well the first time sans the bogus holding call on Hamilton.

First off I didn't think that was holding but then I might have had my B&W glasses on. ;)
But IIRC they did run it again and IU blew it up for about a 5-7 yard loss.
I was really impressed with IU's defense. Their LB'rs were big, pretty fast and good tacklers.
One thing I dont' see on the RU defense is their LB'rs being anywhere close to what IU's are.

Has Penn State run the RPO with 2 backs this year because I would like to see a little...........misdirection now and then. I guess no one believes in split backs or the dreaded I Formatin any more. Seeing SB get swarmed for losses so many times lately is going to..........leave a mark!

Explain to me the benefits of how you run the "RPO" with 2 RBs on the backfield (plus a QB)........please

(This is gonna' be good. :) )
