Were they referring to the additional blurb mentioning the 'weird' throw he made? Or a completely different article.

Well, for what it is worth the Jets have been "working" on his machanics . They have a very specific way they want him to work. He is Not used to NOT having to duck and cover. Apparently he was sacked many many times in practice while at PSU. Sometimes an OL would sack him just to keep him on his toes
Hack had a weak OL at PSU but that wasn't his only problem. Watch how quickly Brady gets rid of the ball for the Patriots. It's not like Hack is going to have all kinds of time to sit in the picket for the Jets.
No doubt, his biggest problem (along with the lack of accuracy thing) is that he is very slow in making read progressions and decisions as well as a very slow, long release. All of these are pretty much the diametric opposite of the greats - they have all coupled extremely accuracy with the ability to make "quick reads" and a "quick release".
