time has flown as JF's first class (2014) are now in their 4th year. quite a few contributors in this group also. this group had people contributing in their first year which helped us get scholarship players to fill in where we had walk-on before. Marcus Allen perfect example as he came in and replaced a walk-on player allowing our defense to become more competitive in the BIG. Saed Blacknall caught that big pass vs OSU. even though not all of them started, i think we had 10 see the field and started our road to having D1 talent on the field.

Marcus Allen was recruited by and committed to O'Brien & Co.

As Art pointed out, Marcus Allen was recruited by, and verballed to, BOB.

The players that CJF recruited in his initial class, which was somewhat limited as he had less than a month between his hiring and Signing Day, include:

Chance Sorrell (OL)
Brendan Brosnan (OL)
Trace McSorley (QB)
Grant Haley (CB)
Koa Farmer (Ath)
Saeed Blacknall (WR)
Amani Oruwariye (CB)
Christian Campbell (CB)
Torrence Brown (Ath)

Others signed in the 2014 class that were recruited by BOB, and verballed to BOB, but stuck with PSU after BOB left and CJF was hired, include:

Mark Allen (RB)
Nick Scott (RB)
Troy Reeder (LB)
Troy Apke (WR)
DeAndre Thompkins (WR)
Chris Godwin (WR)
Daquan Worley (CB)
Marcus Allen (DB)
Noah Beh (OL)
Michael O'Connor (QB)
Antoine White (DT)
Mike Gesicki (TE)
Jonathan Thomas (RB)
Jason Cabinda (LB)
Tarow Barney (DL)
Chasz Wright (OL)

Yep. We should still be tipping the hat to BOB for players like Wright, Gesicki, Allen, Godwin, Thompkins, and others ...... who were a big part of the 2016 success as well as the current team.

was Apke recruited as a WR?

Yes, according to recruiting services. Who knows what CJF was planning..... Moved from WR to DB pretty quickly upon his arrival at PSU, as I recall. And played as a true freshmen due to need on special teams, mainly, if memory serves me.....
