Today is the 50th anniversary of Jim Croce’s untimely death. He was the first musical artist that I actually could call my favorite musical artist. The list kind of changed over the years as I found new music but it was the first artist I could recall regularly listening to.
Until recently, I didn’t know his son ever played music, but when I saw he was touring, I snatched two great seats for his show in Reading, Pennsylvania this November.
I think it’s in this clip that he mentions. He didn’t want to perform his dad‘s music until I hit about 40 years of age. I guess he didn’t want to have people think he was trying to ride on his father’s coattails.
