So frustrating to watch because you know he's got so much more to give. Watching him now is like living that nightmare where you're being chased, but you're knee deep in mud and just can't outrun your pursuers. Hope the kid finds the answers.

141 pounder wrestling 133 to make room for Jordan is the bottom line....I have been to several practices this year.

It hard to even speculate what's wrong. He looks so lost out on the mat currently. The efforts not even there. Lack of urgency... no set up to his shots... can't get out from bottom. Being ridden like he's never escaped from basic rides.

The discussion has to be had about starting Kade Moss at Big Ten's. Jimmy could easily lose in the 1st round at Big Ten's... he looks that completely lost out on the mat.

No confidence. It is not his wrestling ability.

Who ever you are... could you please try to be constructive and NOT BE such an a--. Your negative commenting has been old for a long time. Please try to think... before you post.
on top of that, he already made a comment on JGs match on another thread...

Every year since Jimmy has been the starter, there have been all kinds of speculation as to why he isn't living up to expectations. Is it possible that he just maxed out at the high school level and he didn't have much room to grow at the college level. One year it was confidence, the next year it was Jimmy cutting weight and then confidence. This year it's he's wrestling up a weight. Recruiting isn't a perfect science and no coach is immune from over recruiting guys. Maybe Cael just missed on this one. Taking nothing away from Jimmy, hes a damn All American for Christ's sake but maybe the wrestling world just over valued his being a 4 time PA state champ.

ummm... my eyes may be bad... but did anyone see Jimmy out with the team posing for their co-bigten pixs and award?

Moss beat Gaska at the Scuffle. Jimmy wasn't even in the match today.

This is what i am trying to say. He is very down on himself. He has no confidence right now and breaks very easy during matches. The Coaches have babied him along or maybe that is not a good word. But keep telling him how good he is and work on little things in the room such as standing flat footed and staying directly in front of the other guy instead of circling. They have also worked on finishing shots. It only takes one good win and he will be back. He gets into pity me from what i gather in the room listening to others. Lets pry he comes out of it soon. He can beat anyone in the country when he is pissed.

Bingo.

I agree. Think Jimmy peaked in high school. It happens. Also Jimmy has short arms and small hands. That hurt his ability at 133 and is even more of a problem at 141. I feel bad for Jimmy, but I'm not sure he wins a match in the Big's. I'm confident Moss places high enough to qualify and that he will score some points in the NCAA's. Nevills coming back looks even bigger now with the question marks at 141 and 165.

Casey said on the post-game interview that Jimmy shut it down. I'll take Casey at his word. The rest is just people looking for reasons.
Can you elaborate El Jefe... as I didn't hear the comments. What did Casey mean... in what context did he say... "Jimmy shut it down"?

JG's problem really looks to be strength. He gets in deep on just about everyone, but can't finish. He looks like he did his RS freshman year.
If I were to believe the coaches and wrestlers then strength isn't a problem at all for Jimmy. Seems everyone agrees he's a bull and very strong for his weight. I'll agree with others and say length is a bigger problem.

He meant Jimmy doesn't push all the way through in every situation.

Mancaves are creepy, dude.
It was a play on words to play like a normal guy. Evidently Lemon4Brains... you aren't one. Your constant negative commenting... is tiresome and loathesome. I have a feeling you'll be feeling very alone very shortly. You'll be able to be negative all you want... in your own mental basement. Count on it... Tick tock, Tick tock.

Choose to believe what you like, but I have had a lot of good things to say about this great team. I've watched as many PSU matches as anyone on this board this year. I'll stick with what I see instead of trusting the lazy/tired narratives from the homers

I feel for Jimmy, no way to sugar coat it That is a really bad loss!! It is a head turning loss. Makes me think there is more to this story than we know (injury, Illness, Bad News) Something. He is an All American and Very talented, but as we all know Wrestling is a very mentally challenging sport. If you are psyched out, Talent will only go so far.

Jimmy has shown to be a streaky wrestler I think... When he feels good he will run off some quality victories like he did his redshirt freshman season at the Scuffle. Lets hope Cael can get him feeling good going into Big Tens and he streaks off some big victories. I have been a fan of Jimmy since High School, He seems like a great kid....Cael and Jimmy will figure it out!!

Hey bud, I have the dude on "IGNORE". Believe me, it makes reading more of a joy.

Casey: "It's a tricky thing, you can turn it into wins or you can lose like he did tonight. He came out hard then just shut it down a little bit. Jimmy continues to wrestle in spurts, then he stands around and lets the kid get to his legs and that was the difference in the match. We know what he can do, but it's just a matter of is he going to choose to do it, or is he not."

Jack... Thanks for posting the transcript of Casey's comments. Appreciate you taking the time... immensely.

I also believe length is a major issue. Lack of confidence weighs heavy anytime you lose matches you feel you shouldn't. The last few loses have been "long" guys and add that Micha was a 157lber as a true freshman. We all see the advantage that Rasheed has over his opponents and there is a reason that most of Cael's recruits have above average length. Think there is a reason??

Last year we rarely saw Jimmy unable to get out from bottom and he was better on top riding and turning his opponents. Again, I believe lack of length has been a factor.
