Jiu jitsu

Watching Royce Gracie in the early UFC certainly sparked my interest. After my wrestling career was over, Bjj became popular in the Marines when it was introduced as part of the USMC martial arts program. I've been doing it ever since.

Because when I started training MMA years ago in south Florida, my first day rolling I got caught in a triangle by a 165lb guy —I’m 255–& I couldn’t get out. I knew I’d better learn it quickly. Soon afterwards I was tapping 315lb former offensive lineman from Northern Iowa & rolling with Buchecha a Brazilian legend at the armory in Jupiter Florida.
