gotta post this

Came up to game with wife and son.

Stopped to see daughter who was “pre-gaming” with her friends and they said Joe Jonas was going to be here. My wife was on a mission to find out where he was going to be to no avail.

About 10 minutes ago heard a little commotion literally 25 feet from us and lo and behold it was Joe Jonas.

Gotta a lot of good pics for daughter but somehow I’m going to be in trouble that we saw him and she didn’t

On another note was talking to his manager from literally 4-5 feet away - he said they are hanging till 2nd quarter and then heading to Hershey to see a girl in the hospital before they play at Hershey tonight....pretty cool !

Don't know much about the Jonas Brothers but this is a nice gesture.

Having a celeb attend our games is an important step because if effectively puts the bad years behind us.
There is no way the Jonas handlers would let them be on the sideline if so.

And obviously kudos to them for visiting this child in the hospital. Great move.

Maybe Jonas actually has some brains and knows that what happened at Penn State was actually fake news.

I'm sure it's been discussed here but what is the connection between the Jonas Brothers and Penn State? I know they had the concert in a downtown bar. At least one of them was at the game today. Franklin gave away free Jonas Brothers tickets during the freshman rally the other day. What's the deal?

I have no idea. My post was responding to a post which insinuated that something bad actually took place at PSU rather than a failure of our leadership and fake news.

No, I know. I guess I shouldn't have replied to your post in asking my question. Sorry.

In other words, I do don't need some celeb hanging out on our sideline to convince me everything is ok at PSU. It always was and never was what the Media tried to slap on us and our culture.

Copied from a different site (and this is a year or two old, definately could add to it more):

"Jonas Brothers = boy band from a decade ago. Many of the kids in college now grew up with them as favorites from their elementary/middle school days. Longtime Penn State fans because their manager was from State College and dragged them up here a few times. The Jonas Brothers were playing in Hershey the night that Joe, the middle brother turned 21. Their manager decided take them to State College so that Joe could celebrate turning 21 by going to the Phyrst. On that birthday trip, Joe Jonas met and became friends with Jason and Chris Ganter, sons of former PSU football assistant Fran Ganter. Jason went on to work as an assistant for the band and became close friends with Joe. The band broke up about 5-6 years ago. Joe and his new band DNCE were surprise celebrity performers at THON a few years back. Joe performed at Champs later that night.

So LiondeNittany....there you have it..Joe Jonas knows PSU and didn't come Nittany Valley because he felt that the bad times are behind us. Let me repeat myself, there were no bad times at Penn State. That was a narrative created by a lazy media and perpetuated by a Board of Trustees who failed their fiduciary responsibility to all Penn Staters.

His manager is a State College graduate.

Yes
I was talking with his manager and he said that - said he was happy to be in SC cause he’s “from there”

And to continue my story, my daughter and her friends could not believe I was talking to his manager.

He was on the field though right in front of them-they were row 4 so they got some good pictures - but I was 4 FEET from him lol

Since I was the one who made the post on the "different site", I suppose it behooves me to be the one to "add to it more".

That said, Onward State covered the story at least as well as I could, so rather than rehash the details, let me just post a link.

I live about 25 minutes from Hershey. I am not sure if it is true, but heard that the Jonas Brothers put together an impromptu concert at Hershey Med Center before their concert at the stadium. If so, they are really a class act.

For them to take a few moments to visit a young fan fighting cancer is nothing short of heartwarming. Others who responded to this thread mentioning lack of PSU leadership or anything else should be ashamed. Start a new thread and let this be about a kind act that this strong young woman will never forget.

It is, and as my gf is a pediatric oncology nurse, I have heard so many stories like this, and these celebrities/ athletes were not one time visitors, they visited kids many many times .....
Costner, Harrison Ford, Wannstadt (weekly vists when he coached Bears), just about every athlete in Detroit the past 20 years

The Children's Hospital in Rhode Island is called Hasbro's Children's Hospital. Taylor Swift is known to frequent Hasbro's and play music for the kids, totally unnanounced and not publicized. When I was teaching in RI, one of my students told me that he was visiting his brother at Hasbros "last night" and met Taylor.

She owns a home in Watch Hill, RI. So that makes sense.
