Joe Moorhead called his shot during Penn State’s road win at Purdue last season. Right before star runner Saquon Barkley shook loose for an 81-yard scoring romp, Moorhead said the play would go the distance. The result was one of the most exciting plays of the Nittany Lions’ season. “I’ll do it occasionally, and sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong,’’ Moorhead said, when asked about the popular 2016 story that he forecast Saquon Barkley’s 81-yard TD run against Purdue right before it happened. “In that instance, I happened to be right. It feels good.”
“Brandon (Polk) is very, very fast,’’ Moorhead said of speedy Brandon Polk, the wideout who missed most of 2016 with an injury. “He has great change of direction. He has the ability to make plays with the ball in his hands.”
“He's had a great camp so far,’’ Moorhead continued. “We're only five (daysinto it, but he's done a very good job making plays. And the slot position, the H position in our offense is one that's expected to make a lot of plays.”
