Great podcast with Josh. Interesting portion in recruiting where he named his top 5 but when he decided on PSU, one of the remaining coaching staff hung up on him when he called to inform him of the decison

Bo had a great story about one of the coaches would not answer his call about his PSU so he called the assistant and he kept calling Bo a liar for not wanting to take his official trip there

Also a fantastic back room of how PSU operates versus the other schools. It is a crazy difference.

He certainly reinforces Cael as the Zen master and the the switch from focusing on winning to focusing on daily improvements. Lots of the word FUN. At the Bryce Center, the team was flipping bottles on the mat at warmup and the Iowa team came in all serious and tight. Great inside. Flo must be jealous

Ryan has a reputation for negative recruiting, but I suspect he'd try to talk a recruit out of it.

Which is absolutely hilarious given their roster building model. If I were constantly trying to import grad students, I'd be a lot more gracious.

Vs Cael ... when Micky Phillippi committed to Virginia, Cael told him his door was always open if Phillippi ever changed his mind.

From previous podcasts, I get the feeling that Justin and Josh text each other regularly.🤷

We’ll hear what Cael has to say to the media on Monday, but I wouldn’t expect that to inspire much confidence either way, so I’m gonna stick with Justin‘s announcement.

Tom Ryan can be full of himself but he’s not hanging up on a recruit, he’s not an idiot and the guy is at very least well intended.

Bormet I don’t know well enough to see but seems odd for his personality.

That leaves you with two options and you guys can tell me which seems more likely to act like an immature child when they don’t get what they want,

Yeah, but it is still a fun mental exercise looking at each head coach and assistant coaches personalities and matching that up to Josh and Bo's stories.

We are so lucky to have Cael and his staff, and to think that he had a foot out the door with the crap that he was getting from the PSU Admins.

The podcast interview is long, but very enlightening. Towards the end, they even discuss NIL, and the opportunities to get a big bag, and how that would affect the team and the room. Also, his first coming to PSU and rooming with Gary Steen and Sean Wang and I forget the other wrestler.

I need to get this onto my podcast list as it was very enjoyable. But we need to make certain that the other programs don't see this and grab the secret sauce

The great program with the increase in scholarship allotment should only have a need to supplement maybe one weight class a year with a one year transfer . Those same programs will lose a couple a kids a year because of the number crunch on starting spots. Bearclaw and probably next year Alex leaving will be the norm.

Very impressed with Barr, comes across as extremely humble, thoughtful, and soft-spoken. Very likable. Sure do hope he’s close to 100% and has no setbacks.
