I don't know why some of our fans were disappointed when he committed recently. The kid has blazing speed and massive upside potential. If he attended any camps he'd probably have ended up being rated higher than 3***, 5.6 rating. He is the sleeper of the class.

Pitt would love this kid if they had done their homework in Western PA. He is rated higher than over 2/3 of their class comprised mostly of low end, 5.5 rated 3stars and 2stars. Nice going "Duzz"!

I agree with you. He is lightning fast. You see example after example of kids who think they have the proper angle on him end up not catching him. And he has crazy production. He could very well be the steal of the year. I thought maybe Wade would be our KR next year, but I think this kid should be.

Well now let's not get all excited and anoint him as the next James Connor. I played D10 football. Sure we've had our Brian Siverling and Brian Milne but D1 talent is far and few between in that neck of the woods. Look at his offers; it will bring you back down to earth. BTW, to h@ll with Pitt. Since when do we use it as a measuring stick?! I thank you.

He didn't have more offers because he had poor grades and had to work to get them up to par.

He camped at PSU and the coaches like what they saw. It is not like we are desperate. Have no reason not to trust the coaches in this situation.

Obviously Cosmos played without a helmet.

Bobby Samuels was speed, speed, speed as well. Remember him?
So was KiJana Carter

So was Knowledge Timmons

So was Lydell Sargeant

So was Stephon Green

So was AJ Wallace

Some work out great.....some work out OK....some don't work out at all

Of course, "being fast", in and of itself, ain't never a bad thing either

And how many kids in D10 put up the numbers Brown put up? Just because a lot of D-1 kids don't come from that district doesn't mean there never are or will be one. Tons of kids have played and had opportunities to put up the huge numbers Journey Brown put up, but they didn't which shows Brown has something they don't. Playing against "lesser" competition is one thing, but dominating lesser competition is a different story.

I think a lot of fans would rather have seen us get a big, run-stuffing DT. Count me in this group.

NittanyJGK is the only one who cares about Pitt more than pnnylion.

Again, I ask: If they are irrelevant and worthless as everyone claims, why is there a continual need to post about them? Who cares what they think and do?

If they wanted him, they should have offered him. If they offered and he decided to go to ASWP, they would have thought that he's the greatest thing since canned beer.......just like we do here.

It's a way to zing the Pitt lurkers who CONSTANTLY are here. Many of us have been banned there long ago. Their lurkers know more about PSU football than Pitt football.

I think that was the issue, not that Journey cant be an impact player for us at many positions. in fact if you read the threads in the days before his verbal, it looked like if we got an opening it would be used on Proctor a badly needed LB, or Conliffe.

I trust the coaches. You just can't tell much from the film because he just gets outside and outruns people. That won't be true in college. His 100 time is excellent but I suspect his 40 or his 20 are not exceptional because he is a long strider.

Anyway, what I like about him is he has a good frame and can put on some weight and become a physical back -- or maybe he's wideout, or a safety. He does look like a football player, not a track star in a football uniform. But I think it might be a bit much to compare him to Curtis Samuel just yet.

When will you finally get it through your head that PSU still has openings?? You don't have Castro-Fields, Webb, and Ruggs visiting if you're full. Now just stop posting your nonsense.

I expect he will RS. With his kind of speed, he would be an asset wherever he plays. I imagine his size after a year in S&C will determine where he plays. I know they wanted an RB in the class, but he is a guy whose speed may be needed at DB or WR.

Remember Dion Lewis, 3 star, 5.7 RB who had offers from Pitt, Miami of Ohio, and Tulane, that's it. Have to give credit for Pitt recruiting him. Hard to believe no other schools were interested in him.

None of the big schools wanted Marshall Faulk either - - - - who was 10 X the College (and NFL) RB that Dion Lewis ever dreamt of being

Happens all the time, every year - probably 20 times over every year

Big difference between a kid at 16, vs a kid at 21, and a young man at 25

I'm aware it happens all the time, that's why I mentioned Lewis....Hell, OSU wasn't interested Rothlesberger!! sp.

Well, I'm sure you like to cherry Pick facts. I'll take the composite ranking over 1 site, but whatever makes you feel better. Enjoy your day...

Pitt's recruiting classes consist of 2 stars and kids who are rated high early then drop. See Todd Sibley.. thanks but no thanks at OSU then limited attention....Keyshawn Camp USC...see you later then limited offers. Now they are recruiting Kam Carter who was kicked out of psu. Desperate times call for desperate measures

Those are Pitt's high end recruits along with Paris Ford who will be a man amongst himself for 4 years being 6-6. Have fun Paris ...you are the only kid in a 100 mile radius to attend Pitt

Paris Ford truly loves pitt, or is too scared to try and make it on a national level. While pitt does play in the ACC, they are not big time football.

I doubt Franklin would of recruited him if he didn't think the kid had super star potential...Franklin could of probably sign another top 10 RB if he wanted but instead got this kid.

More like they want Ricky Slade take a 3 star this year to get a 5 star next year.

You can never have too much speed or too many athletes. Even if he only ends up as a good consistent special teams player over the next four or five years, he will earn his scholarship.
