Judge John Cherry substituting for Hoover?

I know John personally. Big Notre Dame supporter. Doesn't care much for Dear Old State however.

Greeeeeeat. Not that he has to be a PSU fan but I would hope we could at least get a judge that doesn't have a bias against PSU. ;)

John Cherry, like Judge Hoover, is about as solid a human being as one will ever meet. It is true that he is an ND football fan but there is no way, any I mean zero percent chance, that his college football preferences would influence his rulings in a criminal court case. Dauphin County also has a Judge, Bernie Coates, who played baseball at PSU and likewise that would have no impact on his decisions should he be assigned to any of these cases.

Good to hear Ceasar. I feel much better now. After dealing with the BoT the past few years I just want to see people in charge of these decisions who are on the up and up and straight shooters with regard to the law. Sounds like we are good in that respect with Judge Cherry.

Maybe because the judge hates PSU he would be less likely to let the BOT get away with their bullshit.

It was spotted by an acquaintance on the Penn Live boards.
Is his brother Don Cherry? Do we get "Trial night in Pennsylvania" now? ;)

I knew a Judge John Cherry from DuBois, Pa. Years ago and I would have guessed he was a ND fan. I have always known him to be a very fair person. His being a ND fan would have nothing to do with his decision, that is if it is him.

I don't believe we have had a reason to think judge Hoover wasn't an honorable man as Caesar pointed out . I am sure judge cherry is of the same caliber of person.

You are remembering his father.

Not saying he has a bias, but it is a fact he doesn't like PSU and didn't like Joe.
I don't know one thing about the guy. Never met him. Probably never will. That said, given the nature of the judiciary in PA (Keith Eckel and Salvino on the judiciary review board?? Really???) I not only have ZERO faith in any of these Judges, but I go in EXPECTING corruption, and hoping to be pleasantly surprised

Hoover - obviously - met expectations. What a complete and utter disaster.

Feudale..... Even worse

Hopefully this will be a case of "pleasant surprise"

There is no reason to assume that the judiciary in this state is not bought and paid for. No reason.
