guys,

@Tim Owen/BWI staff mentioned a month or two ago that he was stepping back this season from PSU wrestling coverage for BWI. He indicated that it was in large part due to an expected addition to his family.

Tim's wife, Liz, gave birth to a baby girl in the early hours of Tuesday. Timothy, my man, I believe you received an early introduction to being up in the middle of the night due to your infant child. ;) On a serious note, I wish the three of you the best of luck in the coming years. Whether or not she grows up to be a wrestler, or a wrestling fan, I'm sure she'll provide you with more fun, and more reasons to be proud, then you can ever imagine.

Thanks Tom, as well as everyone else who has reached out the past few days. I've had a lot of great weeks in this life, but nothing like this one. Truly special.

And, Tom, she's an Owen; she has no choice but to hear about wrestling every winter from here on out. Whether that means she learns to like it is another story, lol. My wife always shakes her head that Thanksgiving/Xmas convos in our big family have only two topics of conversation: wrestling and hunting. I'm sure some of you can relate.

Anyway, here's my Brynn

Congrats Tim! As a father of two little girls I can tell you that there aren't many things more special than watching them grow and mature. My girls may not wrestle but they have seen their fair share of it already. I too find myself in the same family conversations as you. My signature gives that away. Praying for health and happiness for you and the family. God bless.

Piggybacking off SWPA's post, as I have two daughters too, both grown.

She's beautiful, Tim, congrats to you and the Mrs.'s!! Only advice I can offer is DON'T BLINK, and ENJOY EVERY BLESSED SECOND. They grow up quickly, and it's the little things you'll remember most.

Congrats, Tim. As a dad of boys, it sure is exciting, but think of all the new D1 Girls Wrestling programs in 18 more years!

Congrats. Best piece of advice I got as a “new dad”... don’t do once what you’re not willing to do ten thousand more times.

Haha, this thread is awesome. Thanks everyone. I mean it sincerely when I type that I'm grateful for all the feedback I've read on the boards the past couple days. You're great, and I'm looking forward for Brynn to be able to watch some PSU wrestling for the first time tonight on TV. Perfect timing

I also gotta say that I'm also grateful for my wife and just amazed by the strength that she's shown. I've been calling her a champ all week and if our daughter has half of her resolve, then maybe she'll be a pretty good wrestler after all. I had to get permission to post these pics, btw, but finally got the goahead

Congrats Tim. Only fight the battles worth fighting and remember, VERY few battles are worth fighting. You reap what you sow!

Congrats, Tim.. You will now experience the strange realization that nothing in your life before this truly mattered.

And a word of advice based on experience: Never stick your finger in the diaper to determine if it is wet. Sooner or later it comes back brown. ;)
