don't see the 'gut wrenched' used any more. Of course it is difficult to get on tough guys.... but with PSU guys constantly pulling the wrist across the back sneaking the gut wrench in might be doable. Gut wrench, as an example, on the left side on top, pull left arm straight back at the wrist and use right arm to go under the body and grab the arm above the elbow. Good for a tilt and perhaps make the person throw up if they ate too much after weigh-ins!

Do you think there is any smoke to this
Just picturing Vodka’s reaction if there was any chance of it happening…

lol I just want it so bad so the brand brothers go oh shit
Not sure if it would be an o shit. He would be 133 where you already have Davis and Nagao and eventually Luke. And Blaze 141. Ono holding 125 for a college season isn't happening. But like I said I would be shocked if he joins the team. He's also 21 now and from reading this board people don't like older people wrestling so not sure it would work with the fans. (joking obviously would be funny watching everyone change their tune on the age debate if he did enroll)

Would getting Ono move Davis or Nagao to 141 and give Blaze a redshirt?

Sure, but I suspect that's likely to happen even in the absence of Ono. If Nagao comes back healthy and Davis doesn't want to shirt, either one sits on the bench or one mans the 141 weight class for a year. And even THAT scenario doesn't preclude Blaze from potentially coming in ready to wrestle, kicking everyone else's butt in the room and encouraging the coaches to pull his redshirt. I'm not saying that's necessarily likely, but it's certainly possible. PSU has gotten so deep with quality wrestlers over the last 5 or 6 years.

I get the joke, but by "everyone" you're apparently referring to what, like 3 posters.

Exactly. MY response would be that in general I don't really like the 25 and 26 year old kids still playing collegiate sports, but in this case, being a PSU fan and getting a world champion on the wrestling team, I'll temper my opinion and recognize that he's still a true freshman who had never wrestled in college. Doesn't change the fact that I'd still believe there are too many medical redshirts and re-do's given.

Lilledahl, Ono, and Blaze would all just shift up a weight after Van Ness is done. Desmond would be waiting to move in to 125.

I agree with you, though, that Ono staying with NLWC is far more likely than actually wrestling for PSU. We’ll see, I guess.
