There was a justifiable amount of angst in PSU fandom over the departures of Coaches Moorhead, Huff, and Gattis, and how recruiting could be negatively affected by their departure. The hire of recruiting superstar Coach Seider eased some of that concern. But after the NFL combine, Coach Galt might have established himself as a one-man recruiting mega-weapon for CJF.

The performances of Barkley, Gesicki, Hamilton, Apke, etc were an incredible recruiting advertisement for PSU, paid for courtesy of ESPN and the NFL and shown on national TV. How they performed at the combine, all the records that they broke, and how they blew away the players from other top programs was breathtaking to say the least.

Now, if a top recruit is thinking about a program that will prepare him to play on Sundays and place him securely in the minds of pro scouts, the kid will think of PSU and how they just killed the 2018 combine. And the successes of the PSU guys have been publicly attributed in large part to the training program of Coach Galt. As a selling point to potential recruits, it's sooooooo invaluable.

The message going forward is without a doubt going to be, "See what the PSU guys did at the NFL combine? Much of it's due to our training staff headed by Coach Galt, and they can mold YOU too into an incredibly conditioned future early-round NFL draft pick just like they did for Saquon Barkley and Mike Gesicki." I think the slight pause in momentum caused by the departure of the 3 assistant coaches has been negated, and the Galt Effect might take on a life of its own in the coming year or so of recruiting.
