King Mack back in the portal

Had he stayed he could have stepped into the Lion role or manned Winston’s spot when he got injured. Kid really screwed himself.

I believe he would have played the SS that Reed played, which would have kept Reed at the Lion. If he could cover.

Make stupid decisions make stupid results
Not that it matters, but do you think that somebody like this ever has set foot in a classroom at either PSU or Bama?

This kid is the poster child for the stupid state of big time college football. Based on what I saw of him this season, especially in the Tennessee game, he didn’t appear to be that good, although he probably could improve. Yet, he still had the privilege of playing for two teams that are in the top seven in all time college football wins, and chose to leave both. He’ll probably end up at some directional school playing meaningless games and having a forgettable career.

With a name like 'King', one supposes he might have had a sense of entitlement. Instead, he finds himself in the position of a pawn.

Would King Mack have beaten out Zion Tracy at the Lion or Dejuan Lane as the third Safety?

Yeah. Assuming he was solid, he really could have helped us in some games. Lane is going to be a good one, but having to play him as a true freshman wasn’t optimal.

He never would have been in competition with Tracy. Tracy was an outside corner who got shifted to the Lion after Winston went down and Reed moved to Winston's spot.

Lane is a true freshman who they've brought along slowly. Mack was ahead of him by default and considering how little Lane has played in vital games, Mack would have been on the field unless he stunk.

Essentially, Mack either would have replaced KJ (leaving Reed at the Lion) unless he was a liability (at which point we see the shuffling that occurs).

From what I saw Mack had superior short area quickness and would also have been a terror on the coverage teams.

He made his decision to leave as a 19(?) year old kid but that doesn't change the fact that he is a very good athlete, and if Franklin wanted to bring him back due to the lack of depth at Safety so be it.
