DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen passed the test with flying colors. In an environment predisposed to grandstanding and political posturing (i.e., the Congressional oversight hearings) there she was, facing the fire of Sen. Corey Booker’s faux outrage. He should get an Emmy. Anyway, we are ecstatic to learn DHS is pursuing the arrest of state and local officials who break immigration laws by granting sanctuary status. The law is the law. You either enforce it or you work to change it. It’s not like the nursery rhyme, Humpty Dumpty, where you break it first and then try putting it back together.

To Sen. Corey Booker:

I, too, have tears of rage over the antics of a sitting United States senator. You sir, are supposed to represent Americans and not just Haitian-Americans or African-Americans. Where pray tell does your loyalty lie, with the commonweal or the Comintern? We are a nation of immigrants, not illegal immigrants.

In case you don’t know Sen. Booker, resources are finite. Nation states are fighting over them. Which is to say there’s not enough wealth to go around. Consequently, our standard-of-living is at risk if we let anybody and everybody in. For that reason it’s Americans first and people from other countries, “shithole” label notwithstanding. Moreover, if you are offended with whom you associate then change your associations.

I thank you and have a blessed day!
