Anyone with kodi help me out? Just got a new plan with Comcast and upgraded my internet speed to 250mbps from 150. My router was unable to handle the new speed so for now I have a rent a modem from Comcast. Now exodus loads slow and movies lag but don't buffer. If I pause it will catch up but again no buffering icon., it just freezes. Also when gathering streams it now takes forever.. Is this a issue with Comcast maybe blocking or trying to block kodi? Any help would be appreciated.

If your router couldn’t handle the speed, why did you rent a modem from Comcast? They’re two different things.

I'm not familiar with kodi, but Comcast isn't throttling that stream. It could be the rental modem is bad. You could try streaming to a different device and different streams to that device to start the troubleshooting.

It was a modum and router I had previously when I had the 150 plan. My speeds actually dropped when I switched to the 250 plan. Called Comcast and they sent a tech out. Found out it was the router/modem and they hooked one of theirs up and the speeds went to where they should be.

You need a docsis 3.1 modem and a gigabit router.

The comcast thingy is prob not fast

I have kodi downloaded to two fire sticks.. Same problem. Didn't have the problem when I had my own router /modem.. It started when I up'd my plan and got the rent a modem.

Ookla speed test is telling me I have 250-270 download speed.
I'd request swapping the modem router out with comcast if you plan is to continue to rent. I'd try and make sure you have a SB6 model from them. It is a good combo unit and is the best they have.

Also, have you tried chatting with their tech support via IM. They fixed an issue for a friend of mine with his kids PS4 connection issue. It ended up being some section that my friend made while using his Xfi app.

just got it a week ago so I'm hoping I have the latest one. But I don't see model numbers anywhere on it.

Not sure I wanna call tech support for an issue with kodi. They have a ton of legit stuff but it's mostly used for streaming movies, a lot which are still in theaters. That's actually why I thought Comcast might be trying to block it.

The SB6 is about 4x4 tall rectangular shape with the top at an angle. Their techs put out what equipment is required to handle xthe customer service. Older device can handle the 250 speed you got, but the XB6 has better wifi capabilities.

Yep that's the one I have. Speeds are awesome, just having problems with exodus on kodi.

I got ya. If kodi has services that are shady, like putting out pirated content, I'd say the possibility of any ISP throttling the stream is possible. I should have looked before I commented. But... I wouldnt call the support, I'd chat through their my account app. The person you chat with wont give a rat's ass what your streaming, they'll just see if you have any settings or billing codes that could be affecting your service.

I'll try that, thanks.

'Go the this website http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest and watch for BufferBloat. Google bufferboat if you don't know what it is. If your bufferbloat is too high, it may be the cause for your buffering. Adjust your QOS to streaming may improve your buffer. The faster your inteenet speed, the more bufferbloat you have.
If you are brave and knowledgeable with Windows OS (assuming), then you can optimize your TCP auto tuning, it may be disable etc....

On the other hand, KODI is supper unreliable especially with pirated stuffs, I would caution you as Comcast hast a 3 strikes and you are sued. If you must, pay a VPN service to run behind KODI.
If you are successful, let us know so we can all learn.

I think it’s KODI. My didn’t do crap last night. It seems you need to uninstall and reinstall that all the time. Plenty of YOUTUBES on how

I don't have any issues with Kodi or Exodus. Some of the apps work/don't work, but Exodus isn't one of them. There are times a stream is slow, so I just find another stream. Typically I find open load streams work fine.

It works... Just really slow. When I click on a movie it used to take 10 seconds to gather the streams from whatever source..... Now it takes 5 minutes..... I can't figure it out.

I gave up on Kodi years ago for being slow. I stick with Mobdro for my live TV, cinema HD for my movie/TV show, and tvZion for it's backup. Plenty of others, those are just my main 3. Good luck

So I Googled cinima HD,... It's telling me it's a kodi add on?

Go to the downloader app and go to simplykodi dot com/downloads. Not sure if I'm allowed to post the actual link.

Anyway, you will see an array of downloads. Its awesome
