Do any Penn State coaches have daughters who wrestle?
If so, that might keep women’s wrestling on their minds, and then they might help nudge the university whenever opportunities to nudge arise.
The school has amazing women’s sports. Given that Sandy is a big supporter of wrestling, I’d think it would be top of mind to start a women’s team.
Hell, cut Men’s baseball to make things revenue neutral. College baseball in the north is as worthless as tits on a boar hog
A Big10 athletic department without a baseball program would be as embarrassing as one without a wrestling program. Penn State's baseball is pathetic mostly because they ignore PA talent. The last time Penn State played in the college world series the team was made up of guys with local names. Rob Clark (State College), Donny Stine and George Coval (both Philipsburg-Osceola), Rick Sherkel (Moshannon Valley) to name a few. Other kids from Bellefonte, West Branch, Lewistown and on and on. After the World Series somebody came up with a thought, "look what we did with these local kids, just think if we recruit nationally." They have ignored terrific local talent ever since and have spent the last 45+ years getting worse and worse. Penn State baseball, softball and men's and women's basketball have absolutely no reason to be so freaking terrible.

I wonder if you guys realize that the majority of the schools that start women's wrestling are looking for a cheap way to get more kids signed up for school. Starting a women's team when to already have a men's team is cheap.
Enrollment driven schools are jumping on the band wagon. LHU as well.as many other PA state schools are struggling so putting 20-30 girls in class adds to the revenue
i hated to see the NAIA sanction women's wrestling and I hope the NCAA never does as I liked seeing all women compete for the Same national title . A true national championship not like we currently have with NAIA and the three NCAA bodies with the men
