Football Landon Tengwall has medically retired

He was at fall camp for a couple days, but his absence was noted by the end of the first week.
Thanks. I never saw that info. Certainly hurts depth. I am guessing that CJF knew it was dicey situation with Landon was out before UM game then had season ending surgery. Best of luck to him.

About 20 years ago, I remember a local kid getting a concussion and a stinger. In the following scans, they found something unusual in his vertebrae. They recommended he stop playing and he did.
I had this happen as a high school coach. Player had discomfort, Doc recommended X Ray's. The end.

I posted the following in a different thread. If concussion symptoms last that long, or they re-emerge, it’s pretty serious. If that’s what it was, a wise move to retire.

If it is a concussion and he still has issues it’s time to hang up the cleats and move on to his life’s work.

It’s been what…7-8 months? If there are questions ….. the answer is no

The article says that he had not been seen around for several weeks. Did we miss this? It would have been obvious. The Big Ten network said OL looked great and deep. No mention of him being away since camp started.
Staff knew as early as last month.

Is norzad a starter? How many snaps did nelson have? Is nelson a starter?
Nelson is a starter now and now is what matters. Also the STAFF has been very very high on Nelson and the guard spot he won would have been an open competition had Tengwall been healthy.

But hey let's go ahead and see who is better on SAT night: JB Nelson of this year or Tengwall from last year. See you Saturday night.

Ironic since you did not consider Tengwall the starter when he STARTED.

That was his brother. Chad was a freshman in 95
from the daily Collegian - While Thompson or Casey is expected to earn the nod at quarterback, Penn State coach Joe Paterno said Kroell cannot be counted out of the competition.

"You guys keep talking as if Chad Kroell is out of it. I keep bringing Chad Kroell back into it," he said. "I don't want you guys to say that I snuck him in there on you. Chad Kroell is a good prospect."
