Landon Tengwall is confident that Allar has a Grade 1 MCL injury.

This is an important point. Ohio State D will spend quite a bit of time looking at Pribula's tendencies and scheming ways to fool him into interceptions. Very different from Wisconsin's situation. If he plays Saturday those throws over the middle into tiny windows become very dangerous against the kind of athletes Ohio State has in the secondary. It's hard to calculate safeties and linebackers who run faster, jump higher and have great eye-hand coordination.

I did really like how Pribula played once he got into the flow of the game. Those last two drives were both superb -- and yes the Wisconsin D was tired, so that was a factor. But Beau was making decisions very quickly. He has a very quick release and that makes up a bit for the lack of a cannon arm. He's quick as a runner -- he gets to speed very fast. It was really impressive. Pretty amazing to see Allar play his best football one week, and then the following week we see Pribula play his best football. Nice turn of events.
Allar was terrific vs Wisconsin before the injury.

We need to attack the weak links on their O Line. Leverage Durant's quickness. Vilbert and Vanover are solid DEs for us and fill in well for DDS. Ford is really coming on at DT and a great run stuffer. He just clogs up space but is athletic. If we can get pressure on Howard that could be our magic sauce to get a W. Maybe a turnover.

OSU will attack our LBs and Winston replacement.
From what I've seen, their whole OL is a weak link. They suck

I lip read him to say: 'Who in the F*#K are you?'

Which I require more context for to make any further conclusion.

And 'College Football Headlines' needs to quit making sh!t up and actually provide an accurate quotation 'Hey! Who in the f@#k are you?'
is his actual quote!

JMO.

'
It's actually "Hey! Hey! Who the f&*k are you?" and then it appears that he says "sit the f#%^ ..." and then the shot cuts away ... the first part is definite ... the "sit" part may not be correct.

His backup missed the block when Allar was injured
Rucci did miss the block, but Allar should have got rid of the ball quicker and or took the sack. Sometimes being 6'5 and 235 means you are a touch too strong. If he just goes down, it's a clean sack and he is perfectly healthy for thr 2nd half.

Is Landon a doctor now? That’s huge

Landon is still very close to the program. He could be giving an opinion. He could know what a Dr diagnosed and is the unofficial mouthpiece for this. If Franklin didn't want this information spoken on, I would guess Tengwall would have been told not to. They give him all 22 footage to do his show.

Didn't seem that way to me.

Wisconsin had 1 sack for 3 yards (and that came from a safety)
PSU actually had 0 sacks

Rucci was in for two long TD drives
Starters are starters for a reason, so we should be better with Donkah playing, however, from what I saw Rucci played. Well.

Agreed. I was assuming Allar is close to or at 100%.
Yeah. I have a little PTSD from memories of gimpy Trace in 2018...when we had a capable Tommy Stevens on the bench...and Trace was immobile back there and we got upset. And a gimpy Clifford contributing to a winnable loss when we had a capable Will Levis on the bench.

I'd rather have 100% Beau than 70% Drew.

Go back and watch the tape. You'll be thankful our QBs can move in the pocket because 72 is getting beat often.

I think I'd rather have a 100% Beau than a 90% Drew. And I love Drew, he's been playing great the past couple weeks. I just don't want him getting beat up because he's a step slow in the pocket and not able to move as fast laterally. We need Drew for the playoff run and we have to get him healthy. Sit him until Minny unless he is 100% before then.

We have a decent chance this week with Beau. Even if we lose with Beau we are still in good shape moving forward with Washington and Purdue coming up. If we play Drew and he aggravates his injury AND we lose the game, then we're in trouble.

We could very well not see Drew. I think they are hoping he feels good this week in practice but my hunch it is Pribula's game to win or lose.

No agility drill that would require him to cut or move laterally.

Football moves that are important in evading the rush.

CJF was not going to allow that type of activity to be viewed and recorded.
Got it. Yeah don’t think he’s ready for that yet. I’m afraid that we may need to ride with Beau on Saturday.

Is this “mcl” injury at further risk if he plays?

Is Tangwell right and this is the mcl tear the proper diagnosis? Any time you sprain a knee or ankle there is some tearing of the knee or ligament surrounding that joint. The extent and location of the tear determines the treatment necessary.

They have some excellent knee braces today that certainly can help prevent further injury. But it's certainly not like a deep bruise which you can play through if you can endure the pain.

If DA is cleared to play by the medical staff, then the coaches and trainers will evaluate his ability to move and defend himself perhaps on Friday, or even game day morning.

And the staff could know that it's going to take an additional week for him to get healthy and this approach forces OSU's DC to focus on a more diverse attack.

And that's in addition to what OC AK is cooking up that their DC has to prepare for.

Yes, he can absolutely make the existing injury worse.

My non-professional take from the practice videos is that the doctors are not currently overly concerned, or else he would not have been executing some of the passing footwork which was clearly displayed to everyone with eyes.

Based on that video alone, I don't think Allar is starting on Sat. Notice that he doesn't twist or pivot his leg when he turns. He's probably ok going in a straight line but only in a straight line.
He may not yet be permitted to do so by the medical staff and coaches.

He does not have to perform that type of stress test - yet.

This is the standard passing drill that is viewed at essentially every viewing session. The media only gets 10-15 minutes once a week. It's usually ball security drills and passing.
