Larry Johnson: "I was going to die partying."

I applaud those guys. it is a humbling experience and those guys, after being at the pinnacle, had to humble themselves and then use their platform to create meaningful change.

The NFLPA has to be more active in these kinds of things. Often, they take the wrong tact and make matters worse by defending the indefensible as some kind of obligation. And the NFL needs to step up as well.

These guys make a ton of money being taught to be violent on the field. Then are expected to turn it off outside the lines. For "kids" under age 30, these definitions are challenging. This is true for LJ, who had great parents who understood the system, but is probably much worse for players that haven't had that kind of family structure.
